Some how I feel like The Honorable Richard Nixon,(this will stir a few folks up 4 sure.) Hated upon arrival and exit, and well over 30 years later loved and thanked for what I did.
Here is where it gets potentially offensive in places,if you need to edit words out go ahead on it.
Somewhere during the end of my third tour I was reflecting back and wondering what life was going to be like not being in Nam anymore. Looked pretty bleak.
I had roamed (wherever I may roam) this country, slept in jungles/monsoons under a poncho, eatin things that probably could have eatin me(Tabasco cook book), ferried men to and from battle,evac'd the wounded, villiagers, politicians, even Santa Clause was under my gun for protection.
30 days short I was on a mission to secure a hot LZ at a FOB some where. We landed and there was nothing-no fuel, food, latrines, nothing. I stacked dead branches up to keep up outta the monsoon run off while I slept under a poncho and ate cold c-rats with a pukey smelly fish sauce ---no heat tabs Charlie could smell it and the sauce was so our farts and crap did not smell American.
We were shot at, mortored, shelled but we made it through the night.
As the sun came up I was arming my guns I noticed some movement at the tree line and it was a small naked girl with a rope tied around one leg inching towards us. The other end of the rope was being held by Charlie. She was Bait. When she cleard the kill zone I opened fire-27 feet of belted ammo-"the whole 9 yards" and that night MiLin slept warm,full,and dry-feeling safe for the first time in her 8 years of life, surrounded by 700 US Marines.
I never have to think about "if I made a difference"
I made the choice,as many are doing today.
You'all can bitch and moan and say what you want to. I fought harder to roll back Communisim than Wall-mart does prices. Our men are fighting hard to roll back terrorism-yet it comes with a price most of youall wont even put a down payment on.
Next time you go to that soft bed and sleep safe and secure,or bad mouth someone for there video(FANTASTIC VIDEO)or cuss your english teacher because english is harder to learn than "Commie"' remember I was part of the whole plan,dont thank me,just support those who are living it today.
The protected will never savor the flavor of protecting others. I, as every generation of my family dating back to 1775,have been Marines. Lt.Dan was half right-it was my destiny. Others do their part like this man did-made a fine support video for the effort.

I'm good with the "monkey" thing, but the only time a Marine lose's is when they dont have the support of those here at home.
This nation was founded with the blood of folks who took a free country and turned it into theirs. England out,USA in. To send our troops to a place for one reason and have it turn up another reason and it helps-good job. Those people were helpless under Bozo Hussain, had no hope. "course I see only volunteres going over-nobody was forced to go, and with 3 tiurs of the Nam as a doorgunner, I'd go today,no questions asked.

As far as " a bunch of gay americans killing innocent people"...man you live in the 60's'why dont you go down to the air port and spit on vets as they come home? You wouldn't say that to my face would you? Yes , I still have some aggressions to work out from bootcamp that I never settled by shooting the cr*p outta Charlie. But I did get spit on by folks of you mentallity. Go and do before you try to speak of things you know not of.
Lastly-please make fun of my spelling and poor use of grammar-at least I can spell "sad". The shrapnell dulled a few things but that 6-8 year old kid is alive , had a hot meal, and a warm dry place to sleep.
And yes, I've been spit on.......

If we really wanted to go to war, every time a suicide bomber, roadside bomb or any other aggression against the USA or our friends occurs, we should nuke/ or level a major Muslim city starting with Mecca. They seem to be in such a hurry to get to those virgins, let's help 'em out. We could end this business in a month if we really had the fortitude and courage to do it. Politics and compassion have no place in real war.
Next, we stop all reports of terroist activities. Without publicity and the news media, terrorists loose the effectiveness of their futile efforts to change the world.

I don t have anything against American people, but I really dislike your army of P***y , who can only fight against cheat army. Why don t you come and fight a proper one not from the air. But from the ground as Foreign Legion, Russian or North Korea. You are too coward you P***y Anyway try what ever you want you will be defeated and you will be judge by the competent authority and later by god and then you will go to hell. Why? for all innocent people you have killed, lives destruct, torture......
