It's Pete's release day from the nick. He's collecting his personal belongings from the duty officer and dreams about what awaits on the outside. Dreaming is something Pete excels at.

He's a bright guy, and he wants to change his life. Trouble is, it's not that easy. Things get fixed. Ideas. Attitudes. Behaviour. And then his influences aren't always positive. In fact, the only thing positive about his main influence, Reg, is the last drugs test he did.

But in spite of everything - the low life, the boozer and drugs, the crime, the pace and complexity of 21st century life in a big city - Pete dreams. Yeah, OK, he doesn't actually do anything much, but he dreams, all right?
