    why we're sitting here arguing over what really happened, when there are people who DIED on this day, and we want to argue over who took down the plane? either way, everyone on board was killed. Tragically yes, but arguing over how it happened, isn't going to un-do it.

    maybe the American Navy could have prevented that plane of getting into his destination by striking it down.. and then they made up all that story of the heroic act just to make the troops more moralized same thing happened later when they told a story of a female soldier made back to the force after running away from Iraqi forces and that all prove to be wrong...
    Personally I can't really blame them to try to get the spirits up after just a tragedy... considering the others mistakes and crimes that US did this would could just slid in comparasion but that's just a possibility and my interpretation

    if you listen carefully to what he said you will note that he used the word "IF" ; He was describing a scenario of IF THE PLANE WAS SHOT DOWN. Please listen more carefully in the future to what a person says in its entirety, not just what you want to hear. I am not defending Rumsfeld, I am merely pointing out a mistake that we all make sometimes.

      You did not hear it correctly. Rumsfeld did not describe the screnario of IF THE PLANE WAS SHOT DOWN. Tha'ts not what he said. Listen carefully many times. He was saying that "if we imagine what kind of world we would be living in, if the people WHO bombed Spain if the people WHO shot down the plane". He did not say "if the plane was shot down". He said if the people WHO shot down. The key word is WHO. But saying that he's stating that the plane was shot down.

    Let me guess .....next you'll say that you have photographs taken of the plane from the day before with a big red "X" on the hull and just beneath it will be the inscription:

    "Dear fellow conspiracy participant please aim SAM here. and I will try not say anything incriminating. Also, please tell W that this X does not mean there is buried treasure here... signed Don R. "

    Has anyone forgotten about the passenger who talked to his wife on the phone and followed up with "Let's roll" as they attacked the terrorists and intentionally crashed the plane.

    There are enough horrible things that have happened so that we don't have to read between the lines and out of context to attempt to divert the credit from true heroes who deserve it in order to further a clearly partisan political agenda.

      From what I know, they never said they would crash the plane. They said they would attempt to regain control of it, and that there was a pilot on the plane who could fly it. I may be wrong, but I never heard of them saying "Let's crash the plane."
