HOLLYWOOD--JibJab Media, best known for its political parody This Land, played a major role in creating the viral video sensation. A year-and-a-half ago it expanded its business model and started competing with the ecard business, charging subscribers an annual premium to share funny greeting videos.
Luckily for JibJab, people were willing to pay for the service. The largest JibJab greeting provider has 3.8 million subscribers paying $14 a year. JibJab expects to see considerable growth over the next sixth months as new technology makes their social expression content more widely available around the web and transform JibJab from just a destination site.
