Here is a great way to save and earn some money at the same time. Almost 7 out of 10 cars on the road has yellowed, hazy, dull looking headlights. Not only does this look ugly and depreciating but also dims the brightness of the headlight at night.
Here's what I use.
Harbor Freight polisher, Meguiars PlastX, 800-1000-2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper, Tack Rags, Cleaing solution and blue tape.
I purchased this setup for one job of one of my own vehicles, Turned out after a couple people have seen this done, I have done over 15 cars with-in the past 6months. The kit total cost me around $50. Each can of PlastX, packs of sandpaper and blue tape will last for about 6-8 cars. You can charge in the general price range of $25-$50 per set. Thats still alittle over 50% less than the other guys charge as a weekday business.
I hope you like it
??? Is correct. The fact the lenses are bad, hazed and yellow means that the protective coating has failed already. If you have $150 - $600 dollars to blow per headlight, by all means, buy the new one and you can brag about how much you spent, or you can get with the times and have them restored for a huge fraction less. Some more expensive kits come with some good sealants. Either way, even the new lights will start to haze within 2 or 3 years. I did a pair of headlights for a solara way under $100 and he would've spent $480 on new ones. Lenses will look good for about 2 years with normal care... or he could spend $480 and up (inflation) every 3 or 4 years (depending on driving conditions).

By Foresttre 1215118822 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehow about the inside can you clean that water?
By serempire 1214931803 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI like to remove the headlight from the car, Bake it in the oven to loosen the glue, Remove the lense from the headlight bezel and clean real good. Run a bead of RTV around the bezel to secure the lense of no holes or cracks for moisture to enter the headlight again.

By AOAcid 1214804582 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe only people that benefits from this are the con artist that go around doing this service. Your headlights will crack and deteriorate after doing this a few times, and believe me after you do this the first time, you will have to do this over and over to keep it looking decent. Doing this takes the initial protective coating off, and worsens your problem. The sun will ruin your headlights even faster every time you do this.
This guy is obviously a crook if he charged someone to do this service! This video should be titled "DIY headlight scam"
First of all the proteective coating has already been worn away by the sun and the debris from normal driving that is why the lense is hazy. The benifit of doing this is cleary visible as opposed to driving around with it hazy. after the fist time of doing it with the sand paper you jsut need to do the cleaning every so often just like waxing your car. if you compare the price to paying for a replacement lense to doing this I am sure you will see that is worth the little effort rather then paying for a new lense

By carolinasled 1215361702 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhat kind of person is stupid enough let you attack they're car with a grinder and sand paper and they even pay you? Where the hell are you from? Perhaps your fellow Walmart employees let you sand they're headlights.
By westcoastbjm 1215357448 Reply Spam [-2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIf you pay attention to the vid it was not a grinder but a polisiher with a foam pad. and as for the sandpaper it was fine grit which is used to take off a fine amount of material.
By panik88 1222899100 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyou totaly didnt understand what i was talking about with the uv protective coating just wet sanding the light and buffing it will not replace that and no i will not make a video of cleaning a headlight because unlike you i know it does not last and after a year worth of cleaning material you could have bought a new light so yes go back to your day job at walmart and save up
By D%Money 1215352198 Reply Spam [-2] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeof cousre there is no way of replacing the protective coating after this but why would you rather drive around with the headlight hazy over it being clear. And I am not sure how much cplastix you think is needed to do this but even if you do this every other week the bottle has enought to last more than a year which is only $7 so how can you buy a new lense for $7.
By panik88 1222899605 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou are Totally Right.
