The shadow of our Mi-8 helicopter as we were flying back to Ulanbaatar. Height above ground is about 5 to 8 metres and speed is 220 km/h measured by a GPS. The rotors can get more lift from the hot air rising off the sand hence were so low - thats how the pilot explained it - or maybe he just wanted to give us a thrill. He was a great pilot - Central Mongolian Airways.
