Almost like the tropics...but without the coconuts. the 2nd of 4 events.
The ANRA met at Famoso Raceway, only $6.50 in gas from downtown Bakersfield (Ford F-250 V-10).
I fought dehydration, heat axhaustion, swarms of thirsty nitro flies, camera faiure, and the shoulder brace was continually burning my neck!
I resorted to using a damp towel to shade my Canon GL-2 DV-Cam from the 115 degree plus temperatures.
All this pales in comparison to the action, drama, laughter, and outright intestinal fortitude exhibited by the finest drag racers in the country.
So here's a primer of that scorching day in the middle of a nut farm.
