mudkipzuzu, keanu is an alien, I guess in human form, who came to earth to warn humans to stop with the violence if not they will be destroyed by his giant robot "friend".
Not sure if KR is evil in the movie maybe he is neutral, maybe he cares.

It looks like it pretty heavily implies that hes an alien in a human form.

if you pause at 1:44 you can see the tin man or alien shooting a laser beam out of his eyes. looks awesome i might see it. but who's keanu reeves playing as? is he part of the aliens or or humans or what? im confused

To me it looks like the gray mist might be a gray goo scenario. "nanite machines gone crazy" Might be that ether we are inventing a new weapon and Klaatu has come to stop us or it is Gort's dooms day weapon.

the original was mind blowing back in the day...I hope this director doesn't destroy a great story...I have high hopes for this film

If you are tired of remakes then don't watch them! Simple as that!

They've been remaking movies since the early 20th century (Demille remade his own movie once for chrissakes!). Please stop complaining about how "Hollywood has run out of ideas" as if "remake" is some new phenomena that Hollywood is employing to fix their creativity-block. Sequels, remakes, adaptations, from books, from comics, they've all been their. In fact the ratio is quite the same. The only difference is that population has grown, so more people getting into showbiz = more movies.

It's a F**king Great Trailer i think Director Scott Dickerson has done a great job updating this story . I never saw the original but with CGI of today if your going to remake any movie these old sci fi movies that nobody has seen makes perfect sense ... I'm there Dec.12!!!!

Anyway, now I/many of us have been hearing as soon as 2012. Whatever all of this is for the human mind, it's working. After 2012, if nothing happens, then I'm not going to listen to 'end of the world' tales anymore. It's all more like mind control and that may be the likely reason for all of it, in the end.

I real In matter of fact I will buy the original. I havent seen the original since I was 10 years old. I have to admit this movie look so killer. About your comment we have been warned is a true statement. This movie could be a prelude on what is going to happen.
