the TU-144 was not a "complete failure"....but yeah it didn't do very well....but in fact it was FASTER than concorde, by about 100MPH2573291- 0

That was laced with a lot of half-truths.....calling the russian SST a "failure" is only partly right, the Concorde was a failure too, it never made a cent. The russians and the US realized that and stopped their programs before they bled too much money. National pride and stubborness kept it going in France and Great Britain.

- They lost a total of ONE Concord in all
its history, but even that was too much. If the French had lined their tanks with armor the way the brits did, they woudn't have lost even that one.
