      Football would be more of an appropriate word to use when describing the game of soccer. The game is played with the feet, therefore, football is the name given to it by most of the world. American Football is rather strange in it's name as it's mode of play involves not only the feet, but the hands, although I read somewhere that there was no forward pass in the game until much time later after it was first invented. The ball was run, so in turn, it was named football due to running with the ball. The name stuck although the game is changed dramatically from it's first inception. If you watch old (and I'm talking leather helmet/no helmet games) footage, you'll noctice that the forward pass was absent from the game. They started the forward pass because it ws more entertaining than watching people run while holding the ball.

      But still, soccer is soccer, and football is American Football.

      And alvarito, I know soccer (football in the rest of the world) has more history, but when you're in America, and you say football, people think American Football. But I understand where you're coming from
