    Those who claim this to be genius are simply too easily impressed. The USB port is supplying 5V and upwards of 0.5A -- which can be easily obtained from a simple wall-type transformer. Creative? Perhaps. Genius? Certainly not.

    USB cable gives 5 V. Hallogen bulb is used with 12V usually, but can give light at 5V (less bright).Here he uses 2 bulbs which might give light approximately equivalent to 1 bulb when 12V is used. Hallogen bulb produces large quantity of heat, so, a small amount of oil can be rapidly heated.
