This is the larve of a bot fly, common in Africa. They make a small bite in the flesh, lay their egg and let it hatch.
Easy way to get one out, put vasaline over the wound so sufficate the larve, and let it tunnle its way out and then grab it.

The egg incubated, hatches into a pupa stage and the young larve will feed upon the tissue ditritus. The botfly do not lay th eggs directly on the victim it hunts down a normal house fly and lay the eggs while in flight, them when the house fly lands on a animal or human the heat from the body releases the larva of the housefly, the larva them looks for a small wound or scratch in the victim all of these happens in seconds.
