It's made for speed, but not turning at high speed. Lots of cars would have had a hard time getting that fast in the first place.

Regardless the guy would have wrecked no matter what car he was driving because he is an unskilled driver period end of story.

As for comments on the performance of the car in general, there are only maybe a couple other cars in the World in it's same price range that come close.

Then why does the Corvette Z06 outperform cars that cost two to four times as much? ANY car, Porsche, Lambo, or the Prancing Stallion would have pretty much done the same thing with that worthless idiot driving it.

..until it spots a corner. American reviews are usually heroically patriotic but even they admit the car is ok on long sweeping curves and longer straights and struggles on twisty stuff. They admit it so should you. Putting a huge truck engine (which is just plain lazy) into a car generally means corners are a no-no. Added to the fact that Corvettes, until very recently, had spring suspension and to expect the Z06 to corner well is naive.

Well the car in this video is not a Z06 and has lateral acceleration of about .8G The Z06 has about 1.08G which is not bad considering the Ferrari Enzo has about 1.3G lateral acceleration. An F1 is around 2 at normal speeds below 100mph but increase to near 5G at top speeds which is what it's designed for.

The 2006 Corvette Z06 has a MSRP of about $65,000 and the Ferrari Enzo is around $650,000 which is 10 times the cost of the Corvette. The Enzo is all hand assembled and the Corvette is mainly production assembly with the Engine being hand assembled.

Bottom line is that yes there are faster cars, better handling cars, but for probably everyone reading this the Corvette is one of the best bang for the buck cars in the World that is at least somewhat affordable.

I could buy a Z06 (would piss the wife off) but I could never buy an Enzo unless I win the lottery.

The Audi R8 was an amazing car too but again beyond the hopes of most of us. The Audi factory is supposedly going to spend something like 70 million Euros this year on racing.

Judging from the driving skills of this guy I would have to believe he would still have crashed if he was driving an Enzo, or an Audi too.

He got scared seeing the speed he was approaching the back of the truck ahead and got on the brakes way too hard. Had he just let the car steer it'self he would have gone around just fine.

That didn't stop it from posting up better track times than the Murcielago or the Ferrrari F430. With the money you saved, you could easily upgrade its "poor" handling. It doesn't handle the best, but it's far from crap. Unless track times don't count. I guess I'm just naive. One more thing, if a car's suspension doesn't have springs, what is it supposed to have? Or are you talking leaf springs, (which are garbage)?

I would compare American cars to British cars, but it seems that the only British car manufacturer still in business (Jaguar) was saved from bankruptcy by Ford.

A small company but up and coming. Make fantastic cars in looks, speed and handling. Also Mclaren who made the F1 and make the SLR and Morgan but I must admit I do not like the Morgan design, only appeals to a certain type of person. Its unfortunate that all the great british names like Aston Martin have been bought over by other companies but that just goes to show that Ford needs to buy into other companies success to help keep afloat themselves. The only decent car they have as far as i'm cencerned is the GT40 which is badly built and prone to break downs

heard of a 6R4? Dont think TVR are Ford (yet). Caterham, Westfield and AC also spring to mind. Oh, and Bristol. Actually, there's a fair few, although collectively they make about 1 decent car a decade!!
I think the relevant point here is that only the Americans buy American cars and the reasons are obvious.

I wouldn't mind a Tuscan. Ford I wouldn't drive. They saved Jaguar, then trashed the name, and I have never like Mustangs much. That and the GT are about the only Fords worth driving. Personally I like Japanese cars. Americans also buy Toyotas, which is why Toyota will likely thrash GM(if it hasn't already).

TVR make some good cars and they have their own engine which is unusual these days.
The Ford GT looks fantastic but the reliability sounds like a worry (mind you, most cars like that are pretty unreliable).
I work for RAC in England (breakdown rescue company) and the reason you don't see Porsche/Bentley/ Lambo/Ferrari etc being towed is because they all have contracts with us that states all cars must be towed on a curtain-sided tow truck so no one can see it. And I thought it was because they didnt break down!!!!
Toyota do have a habit of making cars well!!! Annoying, mostly, but cars like the MR2 are almost legends.

I live in Manchester and my car won't even fit in the parking bays here!! (look up Renault Clio) If I got a Dodge Ram I would need a police escort just to get it off the driveway! (and i'd need to employ someone to pull the trapped animals and grannies from my grille every 6 miles)

We'll just get you one of those brush guard bumpers. It's basically three big iron bars welded together on the front bumper. The really weird thing is I live in an area which is 80 miles of completely paved city. Yet, you see people driving these giant Humvees like they are on going on a four wheel drive expedition. Go figure.

they've got less space in them than the average 4 door. It seems lots of people buy badges, not cars.

A C4 Corvette has 4 wheel independent suspension-(I own a '92, just like this one), and they handle VERY well if you know how to drive...this driver had no %^$*#! idea what he was doing.
