- I have tried it with raw foods...
  It does work, but a small amout on the edge of the food cooks. I found that by adding about a table spoon of water cuts the cooking of the food down consideralby. Some color change on the edges, but the water seems to heat before the food does. It takes around 45 to 50 seconds on an 1100 watt microwave.
