A military Humvee handles obstacles much more imposing than this shallow slick gumbo these 'cars' were stuck in. For one thing not one of these had anything but A/T tires on them. Oh well, you've got to give these folks credit for trying to help. They needed, more shovels, and/or tire chains, winches, mud tires, locking differentials, or all of the above.

Rovers are boxy but nice, and super expensive for limited performance, clearance, payload, economy, and did I say price? ...almost as expensive as two jeeps, or one that's been heavily modified and bullet proof. Thanx Brits/Aussies, but no thanx.

your zu zu won't go in the same places my S-10's and Jeeps do, not by a long shot. Neither will Suzi's, and unmodified Toys don't bother me too much either. I'd rather take the Escalade, put some decent off-road tires on it and it wouldn't have been stuck in this little noob excercise. And like I said, a Humvee would not even have slowed down for this little bit of wet mud, probably wouldn't have even spun the wheels or kicked up any mud. It the conditions get bad enough to stuck a Humvee then watch out with the tractor because it may not fair much better lest ye bring a looong strap.

First off, don't try to pull someone out backwards, that's just stupid. Second, get bumper to bumper and pin it. The jerk from the rope will pop the guy out no problem. Just make sure you use a rope and not a chain!

no tow or tractor in view and have no help, I learned if you have a tow rope you can get unstuck quickly, I learned it in Malaysia take a back tire off and put a rope around the tree and the tire rim and slowly you will be yanked out, sorry best i can tell you, have no detail way of showing you, all words. It really worked i was amazed I never thought of this back in the states.

Your own feet is much better, it does not pollute the atmosphere,it rarely ever gets stuck and you don't need a tow truck or pay cash to get unstuck. and you gain strength and oxygen.

the traccion has a lot to do with the width of the axles as well as the torque on the weels, and also the luxurious cars there are usually too heavy 'cause all the S**t inside them an too wide also , try a susuki samurai on that kind of terrain! then you'll see those are pigs on mud! really fun and have big rpm too!

The tracktor has bigger torq, so it pulls stronger, while the other cars have less torq and more RPM.

is the problem here. RPM geared down wll give you all the torque you will ever need DUH. All the power in the world will not move these vehicles without traction which is supplied by the tire size and tread design.

Actually that has less to do with the matter than you think. The area that the tractors tire encompass is greater to that of the other cars. An example of this in the natural world would be a camel not sinking in sand due to the width of its feet.
