man, i remember that shit, very common, it used to be worse earlier on, but you f*cking ignorant americans don't even know sh*t. I've been to 3 catholic schools as a kid and got hit in every single one of them. It happens in america, or atleast used to. Even when i was in a public school in kindergarten/1st grade, I still got hit in class. That sh*t ain't new over here. But no way in hell were they punching kids, especially females, in the face like that. If that was a public HS over here that guy would be missing nowadays.

And a "whack" on the butt? Teachers used to beat our *sses in those schools, not just "whack" us and throw chalk. Each teacher had their very own weapon of choice, whether it was a belt, paddle, multiple rulers wrapped with rubber bands (one teacher broke that sh*t hitting me once), or straight up hands. stop acting like America is so soft.

This is not how to learn discipline to others...

Go to big cities in the west and you will see street fights and bar fights all the time. I've never been out without seeing a fight. Koreans don't fight. Seoul is a very safe city. The student has something to strive for anyway. The point is that this sort of thing happens all sorts of different ways. Someone having some little power over someone else and abusing it, in the hopes of finding self-value, but it is just an illusion.

Look at the average kid in the US I don't think the current method is rasing better kids then we had 20 years ago. I look around everday and see out of control kids. parents need to start spanking and it would not hurt to put it back in the schools.

If there are negative results for wrong actions then kids wont do them. What is our worst punishment in school right now. Oh ya we suspend them for a day. So you do something wrong and you get a 1-5 day vaction. Wow that will teach them.

I teach in Asia. You can hit the kids. They push it on you. I've taught in the rich parts and the poor parts. They both hit. The rich kids are extremely well behaved too. The Korean teacher gives you a stick to hit them with. I didn't like doing it at first but when i did it, the results were good. Asians have so much respect for teachers. If the teacher is upset and informs the parents. That kid is in big trouble. North American kids are little bastards. I would hate to teach them. We've had it too easy for too long. I think that's a problem.

I can't stand the pussywhipped system we have here. Half the problems we have would go away if teachers were allowed to resume corporal punishment of students. Parents, too. It's because of all these "do-gooder" leftards around that our educational system is a cesspool of violence and ignorance.

I have been a victim of corporal punishment in South Africa before emigrating to the UK, and I can tell you it does NOT "get the job done." It just creates huge problems, and increases the level of violence in schools between pupils and between teaches and pupils.

when i went to school we had the cane or dap for stepping out of line,the cane was the most painful thing ever in school i had it 6 times. the dap was a random twat on the arse, head, hand. for just about any thing. it taught me disciplin and not to fuck with my teachers. i didnt do well at school not becouse i was stupid (all though im sure that can be debated) but becouse i was not on the same level as the rest in my form so i sat quietly in the back ground and listend and watched. So do i moan about it NO i dont, my job intails a lot of disciplin and with out my education i would not have it and when all is said and done ive done very well out of life thank you, and i love my job.
Now im not saying its right to punch a student several times as its not. but we must return to the old rules and disciplin and get respect from our students that teachers deserve, my kids come home with horror storys from there class rooms where they are learning nothing becouse a disruptive student is taking up all the teachers time. we need to ack now or it will only get worse in the class room.

Many a Catholic school student could probably share their own similar experiences. When I was in 7th grade we had a math teacher who was allowed to slap, hair pull, and scream at students if they got answers wrong when called on in class.

Because of that I no longer feel sympathy for teachers when children act up in class these days. What goes around, comes around.

I just returned from an English teaching stint in an Incheon public school and can confirm that the use of corporal punishment is not uncommon.

I've been here for 2 years. that is how they do it here. I havent seen it that bad on a girl but a boy for sure. It works though. They use to give me a stick. I was like no. Im alright. Then eventually I had been here so long I got pissed one day and it worked. THe kid was an angel after that. A little slap on the hand or making them put their arms up is very common.

That would be construed as fighting back, which would get her in worse trouble. Also, the fact that this is being filmed indicates this was somehow planned on the part of the students, to prove how bad the teacher was. Fighting back wouldn't help that image.

This similar thing happened when I was growing up. We had a teacher like this who slapped, hair pulled, and verbally abused students all the time. The funny thing is that the so-called *tough kids* who you'd THINK would have defended themselves did nothing about it and just took it. That's because when you're a kid there's an unspoken rule that authority figures are always right *no matter what*, and if you were to defend yourself, you'd be seen as a juvenile delinquent and evil kid who--*gasp* had the audacity to strike a teacher. Rather than face the prospect of being condemned as a juvie, you don't do anything.

It's even worse if the abusive teacher is someone who everyone *respects* and whose teaching is being seen as merely being *discipline* or *tough love.* Defend yourself, and watch yourself being condemned as a disrespectful snot, lol.
