  A FIRM and caring "No more crying" and sitting him up every time he does that will stop it completely and quickly! My son is 4 now and we do not tolerate temper tamtrums at all! There's no point to it. I can't watch these things without wanting to SCREAM at the IDIOT parents for letting this behavior continue.

  kid's myself, older than your's. I'm also educated in child psychology, their physical progression, child abuse, and children with social difficulties. I've worked with children fulltime in about 10 tear's now.
  
  Most likely, your method have been tried, with no luck. All children do not respond in the same way as another. And every parent need's to find out what their child respond the best at.
  
  I'm not saying that I know it all, or that I am right here, but they are using an very afficient method towards an stubbornheaded young fellow. Hopefully it worked.

  I had 3 kids in a row.. (20 months apart in ages) and when they pulled little stunts like this they would be promptly put to bed.. (not matter the time of day and no matter what age) and taken out of bed when they stopped.. Not one became a brat. Today they are 33, 31 and 29 yrs old and a pain in the ass (joke) ; )
