This strikes me as something you could put in a horror film. It could be playing on the tv when they find the first body, and you could cut out all the sounds of people screaming and just have this soundtrack play over it. Ultra creepy.
The cartoon itself is really neat - way more interesting than most Mickey Mouse stuff from the period. But maybe that's just because I think tanuki are less creepy than mice ^_^

I create videos and multi-layer background is very difficult to create. I can't believe they were experimenting with this animation way back in '33.
