  Think for a moment. I realize that thinking is not something you normally do, but try it just this once.
  
  How would the cell phone network know which is your car? Notice that there isn't any way of identifying to the cell network which is your car. If it worked, it would lock all the cars in the cell, not just yours.

- Actually, there is, but...
  you need a special system like OnStar installed.
  
  You dial a special number, and when it answers, you enter your PIN (specific to your car) and the system sends the command to unlock your car. There's another PIN to disable the engine in case the car is stolen.
  
  But you have to have the system wired into your car, and you have to pay a monthly fee for the service. It won't work with just any car.
