Regardless of what this is called, this free energy looks amazing when demonstrated. I’ll show you how to make it.
It would be cool to get the magnet in perfect position and make a small airplane with the magnets turning the perpeller. Build the body of the airplane out of some light wood, and fly it . y0u might not ever get it back but it would be cool
By T-rell 1217359266 Reply Spam [+11] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat would be cool.
I'm going to make such a plane and paint NASA on it, then wait until it's dark and point it at the moon and let it go.
I'll put my phone number on it so when somebody who lives on the Moon finds it he or she can phone me and let me know.
That will be cool.
And I'll have a new friend on the moon also.
Thanks man for your inspiration.
Eddie, I think zf23 should put my name on the plane..... after all, it was my idea. What ya think? He is trying to add to my idea. You dont add to somebodys idea. That is just plain thieving it.

By drue192 1217706482 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeso by that stupid explanation of someone who seems to be a nine years old , you think you figured it out , well !! no, even if the magnets are placed to repel , after all under the laws of physics and thermodynamics the magnets will come to rest in a certain position where the forces are added to be zero ( like the magnetic force against normal forces or the torque produced by them to balance the magnetic effects) it will move in the begining under the effect of potential energy produced by the person who moved the magnet, (by the way I am free studying physicist and I know what I am talking about).
By mahmoud sobhy 1218991911 Reply Spam [+4] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveMagnets always have both north and south poles, UNLESS they are generated electrically (see: junior high science class). You can do this with copper and a battery. Those can be only north or only south charged magnets. Of course you require a battery to do this.
By rednblue 1217739460 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removepole, including those that are 'generated electrically'.

By superant10001 1217372060 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe motor is less than 100% efficient, the light sucks up power, the magnets aren't made of magic. Try this yourself, it'll immediately grind to a halt. You can't break the laws of thermodynamics, and this guy hasn't done it. Fake, fake, fake!
By hoytaxton 1217422557 Reply Spam [+8] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removesome people believe this? And you try to tell them it's junk but they come out with rubbish about the magnets providing the energy.
I couldn't agree more. This is going to be my kid's science fair project next year. The title will be, "Debunking Perpetual Motion Garbage".
By hoytaxton 1217625788 Reply Spam [+9] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI think this video is a fake. In fact, I'm dead certain this video is a fake and I'm willing to bet real money on it. I'll take any bets ... you bet that anybody can make this experiment work - in person and observed by several people, I'll bet you can't. I'll further bet that under no external power source, the contraption doesn't even turn one full revolution. $100 each, and I'll take as many bets as I get. If you want to go for $1000, I'm game for that too. I have magnets and a motor on order from ebay, I have the tub of Philly and the light bulb. I have matches and superglue. We'll do the experiment with my stuff, and anybody who wants to put money on the table can bring their own stuff as well. We meet in a public place and any and all observers are welcome. I'll invite a local skeptics club. You can invite whoever you want. I'm betting the contraption in the video does NOT work at all. You're betting me that it does. I'll set the threshold of winning or losing at one complete revolution of the contraption under no external power, including getting the contraption going. The video above appears to show no external forces applied. Put your money down if you dare.
By hoytaxton 1217625667 Reply Spam [+9] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeof course it's fake - you're talking to someone with a PhD in a scientific discipline.
What I'm referring to is the frustration I feel when utter morons come out with complete rubbish about this possibly being for real.
Have you really ordered those magnets? I guess you can make some super strong fridge magnets or something.
I just saw that I was unclear in one of my messages, whether I was betting that the invention was a fake or not. I just wanted to remove all doubt about where I stood. Glad to have a ligitimate member of the scientific community commenting here! I'm an engineer, which gives me no specific credentials but does mean that I'm a critical thinker. And yes, I really ordered a dozen N48 Neodymium magnets and a motor from ebay. The motor is as close to exactly like the one pictured in the video as possible. It looks to be exactly the same model as he shows. I'll post here when I've done the experiment and gathered the results. And I'm serious, anyone who wants to observe is welcome to watch and bring their own equipment for me to observe. No psuedoscientific BS, just real science where everyone can see.
And to answer your question ... yes, it KILLS me when people believe this kind of thing! Total, complete nonsense!
generates as much interest as this one - after all, it'll be a film of a stationary plastic lid with some expensive magnets dotted around it.
The current excitement on Metacafe about water as a fuel is especially irritating - people accept that water can be broken down into hydrogen and oxygen and therefore think it is a viable source of energy - but they ignore the fact that the energy required to break it down is the same (or less in real life systems) as the energy create by burning the hydrogen in the oxygen.
Good luck with your video!
A voice of reason! These hoaxes and charlatans drive me stinking nuts! A guy I work with (technician) forwarded me one of the "water makes energy" things which showed somebody igniting water vapor which was being bombarded with microwaves ... touted as free energy. HOW MUCH ENERGY IS GOING INTO PRODUCING THOSE MICROWAVES???? Man, it is so frustrating when people can't just THINK!
By hoytaxton 1217628573 Reply Spam [+7] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeat last some scientific sense, I am an amateur physicist and physical chemist beside my medical studying nowadays, and I am happy to see that scientific people answer to some of the BS written , in my opinion it is not very true, of course according to the clear laws of thermodynamics there is no perpetual energy machine although throughout time people tried to build ones, and the reason I think in principal a semi perpetual machine that works for a small period of time can be build were the energy loss from the system is very low , for example if a magnet and a wheel placed like in the video put the wheel is moved first and the magnet is repelling it with enough force , and off course it has a small friction factor it will keep going for a while before stoping , but eventually the energy will be lost in many forms as heat and soun to the surroundin media , in that tape it was clearly feak because of the light produced and the long time the wheel kept moving in a great speed, i think he connected a hidden power supply to both the lamp and the motor.
By mahmoud sobhy 1218991029 Reply Spam [+3] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removemotion, however I believe your critique of this is flawed. I believe this device given the right construction would work as shown in the video. I would just like to point out I'm not an expert in this field nor do I have any relevant physics background. However your evaluation that there are no external forces applied is false. When he starts the device with the magnet he moves the magnet closer and then further away in a way creating an oscilation of kinetic energy. which done in the right frequency could cause a direct translation of kinetic energy via the magnetic bonds (same spinning a chair and applying extra force as it comes round past you). However in this case the speed at which the wheel end up spinning at causes the duration of which opposing poles have a chance to act on each other to be minimal and therefore this could concieveably cause the wheel to spin for a while given the correct conditions (see single particle in newtonian universe(obviously not to that extreme)). As with the single particle you are extracting energy from this in a multitude(heat as friction, current etc etc) of ways and it will according to the either the first or second (or both) laws of thermodynamics will come to a stop.
I just want to clarify I am in total agreement that this is not perpetual motion/energy. But I believe that the device could be made to do what it does in the video without use of an external power source (as he appears to be supplying the inital energy via kinetics.)
If this did "work" then it is the hand holding the moving magnet that is supplying the energy to overcome the friction of the motor etc..
It's a bit of a problem that the people with science backgrounds immediately know that perpetual motion cannot exist and immediately say so, but fail to notice the energy being put into the system by the experimenter.
Well spotted Jebus! Praise be to Jebus!
you must be an engineer

By alfred1765 1224719532 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveFirst Law of Thermodynamics: Energy can be changed from one form to another, but it cannot be created or destroyed.
By sharkinfested 1217437273 Reply Spam [+6] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI heard that in science class, but (just throwing it out there) - aren't we (people) just energy that's contained in a body? We're created - and some destroyed...
By jdennis218 1218076416 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemovePeople (and all living creatures) are more like biological engines – the energy we run on is the food that we eat. Our food is nothing more than stored energy from the sun – plants use the sun’s energy, minerals, CO2, water, and photosynthesis to make food. Even when we eat other animals their foods are plants. The only way a new baby can be created is if the mother has enough food. The energy isn’t being created as it all comes from the sun, but the sun’s energy is transformed into a type of energy we can use. So I guess you could say that we are all solar powered.
Energy isn’t being destroyed either. Most of the energy we get from food is transformed again into heat and that heat dissipates into the universe. Eventually all the stored energy in the universe will be transformed into heat when our sun and all the stars burn out. But the energy isn’t lost it’s just spread out into the universe.
If the heat is disapaeted into space, then the heat (as energy) is gone right? Isn't that destroyed?
By gmurg 1218184587 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNo, the energy isn’t gone – it’s just spread out. Think of it like this: image you have a water balloon (representing an amount of energy) sitting in the middle of a platform. The platform represent outer space so it is a HUGE platform – it goes on for hundreds of miles in every direction.
Now when energy is released in the universe as heat it moves out in all directions just like the water moves out in all directions when our water balloon it gets popped. The heat energy will eventually spread out to all corners of the universe so in this example the water from our balloon must be evenly spread out over the platform. Now since heat doesn’t evaporate like water, in this example you have to assume that our water can’t evaporate either.
Ok, eventually the water gets spread out so thin on our platform that each molecule of water is several feet apart from one another. If you watched this event happen it would look like the water just disappeared. The platform would even be dry to the touch! Did the water get destroyed? No, it was just spread out so thin that it isn’t perceptible.
The same thing happens with heat. Outer space is so huge and so cold that even when all the energy is turned into heat and spread out evenly over the universe the temperature of space won’t change by any great measure.
Perfect explanation. Thanks for posting that.

By perpetualsearch 1218501858 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAlso, kinetic energy has to be created by something. For example, kinetic energy can come from a person moving their hand to throw an object. The energy they used to move their hand came from their body, which is powered by food, drink, etc. All types of energy come from somewhere else. Big circle. Yay. Magnets can create kinetic energy, but they eventually become demagnetized. As I said before, this setup would require a double-north-pole magnet.
By rednblue 1217581045 Reply Spam [+6] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei'm probably wrong here but still, he uses his hand to spin the lid first so his kinetic energy is moving it then the magnets just keep it moving.
But if it would ever work it wouldn't look anything like the way it moves on the video. & i agree he is most likely using a power source.
too damn stupid

Why settle for a measly 24 megagigapetawatts?
The inventor you speak of has CLAIMED to make a 24kW generator but refused to let anyone look at it. This is the classic story of perpetual motion machines, free energy schemes, greater than 100% efficiency etc. Some guy proposes a free energy machine, inevitibly using magnets (which non scientificly literate people assume have almost magical properties of energy creation ... they don't), publishes a bunch of false or misleading data and starts trying to get investors to sign up for this once in a lifetime opportunity to get wealthy beyond anyone's fantasies. The minute a real scientist or skeptic asks to have a look at the machine, the keys to the lab are lost, phone calls aren't returned, etc. Push this poster to reproduce his results in front of a reliable skeptic and his claims will dry up just like this.

By perpetualsearch 1218502512 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI'm nowhere near as educated as some of the people posting here... But I think it's good to get people to think in terms of individual energy production. Like maybe instead of perpetual motion you could create extended motion energy using a combo of magnetism, gravity, and elbow grease for the initial kinetics. The type of stuff that might work better on a micro scale, hand cranks for your appliances, that sort of thing. Maybe systems that utilize and extend kinetic energy that we're already exerting (heavy revolving doors, roller chutes, etc)
If we could find a way for example to use the excess energy from buttering toast to somehow power the toaster, or the energy from stirring a cup of tea to power the kettle, this would surely be a major leap forward for mankind?
The only thing is, using the toast example, you only come to butter the toast once the energy to cook it has been expended - therefore we would have to find some way of moving the energy back in space and time or alternatively develop a buttery spread product that could be applied to the butter in advance of toasting the bread.
I'm going to give this some more thought as it's a little bit half-baked (or half-toasted) at the moment.
I'll keep you toasted - I mean posted.
Don't put the butter before the toast... What you gotta realize is the butter IS the toast man! Once it's in your stomach that is.
You can't outflake me I'm the flakiest. Check out my videos if you don't believe me!
you should scale this up using speaker magnets
