I'd fully support the culling of introduced species such as you've discussed. But opposing inhumane slaughter for the meat or fur trades is a different matter.

I think we're on completely the same wavelength though.

I am a hunter of introduced pest animals (in New Zealand)...and like all true hunters does not like an animal to die inhumanely. Cruelty to animals for human pleasure or gain is what needs to be banned...not hunting.

Actually there should be balance between endangered animals and over-populated animals. However, we human beings don't have right to take nature under our control. We can't shoot helpless animal to protect another species. If we really are that concerned of over population, shouldn't we start if from human being. They are really over populating and polluting earth, so will u go and starting shooting on them?

I'm pleased that someone else before me gave your comment a 1up rating - many people who eat meat or support the hunting lobby like to pretend that PETA are themselves somehow animal abusers. This is nonsense. PETA's website has several films that everyone who eats meat or wears fur should see - they show absolutely horrific abuse of animals at abbatoirs in the US and elsewhere in the world, and videos of dogs, cats and racoon-type animals being skinned for fur - particularly in China. There are animals being skinned while conscious and the most disturbing image I've ever seen was of an aminal completely skinned but still moving and blinking. The reality about China is that there are equally horrific abuses of human rights taking place right here and now, and perhaps that makes their abuse of animals pale into insignificance. However I'd prefer that neither animals nor humans had their rights abused, and I feel a degree more horror that animals who have little scope to defend their rights are being treated thus.

This comment will have a short lifespan as many of the morons on Metacafe will come along and rate it into oblivion or write stupid, idiotic and cavalier replies to it.

Before you make any unfounded criticisms of PETA go and watch their films, which are real.

In USA, 1 out of 4 gal is being raped. So, isn't it the sheer violation of human right? I m not pointing at specific country, my point is that when we are arguing about something sensible like cruelty against animal, plz stop dragging specific group or country. No where in the world is perfect country, but the thing we can do is try to be near to perfect. I don't think hiding self mistake under the carpet and exposing others will do any good to human kind. Thankx for revealing cruelty against animal, it is no-brainer to say hunting shouldn't be banned. Animal is also part of nature and this world do belong to them as much as to us. However, u can't advise people to go vegetarian. I love chicken and prefer it to vegetable but i hate other animal's meat. I will even stop to eat chicken, if u can stop lion and tiger from hunting down their prey. They do got bushes and green leaves around them, why don't u try them to eat some grass? So, by consuming meat no one is going against nature or by becoming vegetarian no one will be called saint. To be a saint u should be pure through ur heart. Buddha told us not to kill animals but u can eat meat because once an animal is killed for food, u should consume it. That's how u can respect ur society and food itself.

before i made this comment my computer did not show any of the above already made if the true case is to protect from disease then its a different matter but hunting for pleasure is cruel and there needs to be ban. anyone caught hunting for pleasure should either face a death penalty or life in prison
