Demolition? It's as simple as that.
I wonder if it's not demolition, but construction? Is this building being constructed floor by floor and jacked up using hydraulics?
Why would you demolish a building this way when you could use heavy machinery to pull it down in sections? Or use explosives to bring it down?
I think the poster is pulling our legs, and I'd rather know what is actually taking place!
It is a demolition method called daruma-otoshi by a engineering firm called Kajima.

By vipseconds 1217700898 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeu idiot its unique and japanese thts y it is on metacafe. japanese dont waste their time they dont waste their single second on something which is useless well a wild guess from me is may be they dont wana waste anymore money and time on making basement of the building they gona make over it may be they can use old basements for makin new buildings
By xxxMA5T3Rxxx 1251537438 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethen you would take down the other building at the side
By themanofbrick 1218737041 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveSO IF ITS BEING CONSTRUCTED AS YOU SAY WHY IS THERE SO MUCH RUBBLE?
By millionlux 1217606724 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThats too much of a hassle, I rather do it the american way! KABOOM!!!
By Scorpion3:16 1217362065 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removestop fighting, the method is to save the building but rid the support beams, so the style is to put explosives at the base of the beams deep in the ground and it has to sink instead of shattering, so thats that. goodnight.
By TheOnlyJudge 1217851484 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei didn't see any Kabooom in this video and no building calshing down in a couple of seconds. That's why the japanesse people are ahead of all others countrys in the world, they use their heads :D
By GoBz0r 1217364687 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removekaboom = fun
By Zip123 1218649879 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removelet me understand...
the best way to clean is to don´t mess it up.
If "kabooom" then waste time and money when claening everything and pay for the insurance bills...
sounds smart
spend a week lowering a building or 10 seconds, seems the implosion would be more effecient to me. i can see where this method would have its uses when buildings are too tight to one another but not as a general method of demolition.
wow- very good hi-tech

Stupid.
I am embarassed to admit that I watched this.
less dust floating in the air using this method compare to the blasting method.

By cashnikhil001 1217394816 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHow it is done as shown? Someone please explaine. How did they sunk that building into the earth floor by floor, like being lower down by jack? With that extreme balance? All I knew is that all building must stand on an extremely firmed foundation before it be stand. How to sink a building that way?
By Sweet_Licker 1217383457 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDoesn't seem like a demolition to me. Looks more like a bizarre way of sinking ground supports.
By Johannsen 1217333810 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI Think They Are Using Powerfull Hydrolics n It Is Better Way For Demolition. Without Any Distrubance & Scrap E.T.C.... This Is The Better Way. 5*****'s (n_n)
By Dusk Horde 1221059867 Reply Spam [-2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveJapan has overcrowded cities and building are close together, this way it's safer for the whole neighbourhood and no dangerous clouds of dust when you use explosives. Those who comment otherwise are idiots and didn't really evaluate the situation. enuff said!
By Duanz 1217938841 Reply Spam [-2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhen I pause and play very fast to watch in slow motion(sort of), it looks like those two workers in the middle of the video by themselves are walking backwards as the building is lowered. I'm pretty sure this is not demolition, but a very neat way to construct a building in a tight space. Go Japan anyway for being efficient!
By KittyPrime 1217787211 Reply Spam [-2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI always buy jap stuff. its so well built, like my old Lexus ls400 & my Toyota Crown. They have great skill
