All you have to really do is just put your remote to the temple of your head and you'll have a very nice range. Seen it on Top Gear and tested myself, it's working.

  if you put your remote to the underside of your chin.. you get more range. It uses your body as an extended antenna. I do mobile electronics and doing this has been around for a long time.
