A friend's mother passed away recently, and while at the funeral, it got me thinking about the euphemisms we use for death. Look, right there I said passed away, instead of died. You never want to hear somebody died. Better to say they've left us. They've bought the farm. They've kicked the bucket. They've checked out, like life is a four star hotel, and now they've gone back to the great beyond after a couple of decades sunning here on planet Earth. When I go, try to make up a new euphemism so nobody feels too bad about it.
