I'm still perturbed by the notion of Jesus returning and the believers getting the upper hand-sounds dangerously competitive not to say sinister, if you ask me. Let me finish by saying I'm not dissing Christianity, as I've written before I've got a real issue with all organised religions as I think they aggravate the human condition and divide peoples more than just about anything else I can think of - that's my issue!

guardianofnala - as I suspected, the spelling issue is that of American vs English - there are probably dozens of words that I've spelt in a way that looks odd to American readers and calibre is just one. Since our language is a few hundred years older than your country, I guess I could claim the points on that issue. I'd be interested in what other contexts "monosyllabic" can be used, "single-syllable" means just that, words of one syllable and I don't think I can be accused of that?

i know what monosyllabic means, totaldoug, it is related to the use of one-syllable words, although depending on the context can be used to describe other things as well. As for your spelling problem, in a reply a week ago to Jayx215, on page 12 of the comments, you mispell caliber as calibre in an insulting post to Jayx:"maybe the link is the calibre of education".Yes, its only one example but still, "take the plank out of your own eye before you take the splinter out of another"

guardianofnala - do you know what monosyllabic means? It's got nothing to do with sticking to one subject! I argue different aspects of the same problem which is that superstitious belief in religion is a major problem for today's society which manifests itself in a variety of different guises - war, overpopulation etc. As for my spelling, please point out any errors but there's a good chance what you think is an error is because I write in the original English not bastardised American English.

i think its kinda funny, people w/o religion accuse religious people of being hypocrites, and then while the religious people respond to that by attempting to stop being hypocrites, the non-religious dont even realize that theyre being hypocrites as well..

Totaldoug-...Thank you? Over-population is a large crisis, I admit. And there are some problems with cultures that beleive that 15 or more children is just fine in this era. But it's not just religious people who breed. Getting people to give up on God won't stop the population from growing. Not to mention the amount of children and STDs that could be avoided if people didn't have premarital intercourse. We need to change drastically, I agree, but turning people into scapegoats won't help.

Unfortunately, your logic doesn't match your words or good intentions. Unless the mindless doctrines of the Catholic church and the drive of the Muslims and Jews to multiply their numbers are overcome, we have no future. By 2050, the world's population could be 9 billion and the Earth will be unable to feed everyone. And religion will have driven it!
