EMIRATES AIRLINE MAKES AVIATION HISTORY AT NEW YORKS JFK AIRPORT WITH ARRIVAL OF FIRST SCHEDULED AIRBUS A380 SERVICE TO THE UNITED STATES
State-of-the-Art Aircraft Features Two Flight Decks, Private First Class Suites, Two First Class Shower Spas, Onboard Lounge and More
With the company's president, Tim Clark, on the inaugural flight, Emirates Airline will make history when its Airbus A380 lands at John F. Kennedy International Airport at approximately 4:45 p.m. today. This will be the first commercial A380 'superjumbo' jet to fly on American soil. The 12.5-hour flight took off at 11:00 a.m. Dubai time with 489 passengers and 24 cabin crew on board.
The A380 is the world's only twin-deck, four-aisle airliner, offering the widest cabin of any aircraft. The aircraft's floor area is 49 percent bigger and has 35 percent more seats than its closest rival. It towers at 79 feet, 7 inches high with a wing span of 261 feet, 8 inches.

singapore airlines was the first to receive this airplane and was the first to fly it commercially! i was there when it first landed in changi airport.
annually changi airport received apprpox 37 million passengers... the 'great' dubai airport currently receives only 18 million passangers a year and is making such a big fuss. the best part is that even with 37 million and still climbing numbers, Changi airport is never crowded like dubai airport, its such a pleasant experience.
Singapore's population is almost 5 times larger than Dubais so naturally they'll have more passengers than Dubai for now. The Emirates airlines is also the biggest carrier of the A380 (eventually) with almost 1/3 of the total orders or about 65 airplanes so these numbers will change very fast. Sorry Singapore!

By Greenlantern15 1220528217 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removedont be sorry for singapore. this is one model which the arab countries are trying to follow closely. an extremely small island state, no natural water supply, no oil money, no everything....the richest country in asia, the most happening place to be. the first F1 night race...imagine if spore has the oil money like the arabs? everything works in spore! do come over and see for yourself. i;ve been to dubai and bahrain...nice place to visit but i doubt its a nice place to stay. bahrain reminds me of singapore 30 years ago. dubai will mature like spore in due time and only God knows when. spore is even smaller than bahrain! singapore airlines is the very few airlines that keeps on making profit every year. they have even converted their regular flights from spore to new york to be 'only business class flights'! i guess there are some things that even money cannot buy....its call great business attitude. cheers mate. ahlan wah sahlan.
