also sand it with 1000 grit sandpaper and put a cloth buffing wheel on a bench grinder and put buffing compound on it and it be perfect. We use this same method to polich plexi glass...cds are acrylic also.
not sure on the peanut butter but look at a disc doctor its just very smooth sand paper and a liquid and it costs alot more also i know t-cut works it takes out major scratches and replaces with little ones that the dvd/cd will miss unless your dvd/cd reader is a bit weak so toothpaste mabey?

i NEVER let my kids have original DVD always make a copy and they can do the hell they like.
kids and DVDS = same as = bullin china shop.
I dont let kids or anything get to my cds period, but It still gets scratched one way or the other. Even keeping it in the cd case gets it scratched.
