Between "Genuine danger" and "Raving Safety Paranoia" there must be some sensible middle ground. Dry ice is fun. We should figure out a way to handle it safely.

      Hah probably. But that doesn't prove that dry ice is dangerous. Worse is to drink liquid nitrogen (a common trick among physics teachers,) which can shatter your teeth.

      Very weird is to compare it against circus fire-eaters. Most people know about fire eating and are not much impressed. Apparently burning kerosene isn't seen as "dangerous." But if you put dry ice in your mouth and chew it up, it freaks them out. It's like Matt "The Tube's" famous trick of using crazy-glue to attach his entire hand to a bowling ball. Hmmmm, Matt should post some vids.
