I've never seen a Stirling enging before. Thanks for sharing

Stirling engine are mighty cool, however all the ones I have seen always have terrible torque, as soon as you apply any resistance they almost stop. Any way to get around this do you think, or will the stirling engine remain a desk ornament for ever...?

have you tried a tesla turbine in any of these frensel designs, supposedly they transfer energy very efficiently at the atomic drag level.

You know, I never thought about using the flywheel as a turbine additive. Actually I cannot even think how it would ffect the process. Thank you for the FANTASTIC idea. Or it could be a Tesla combo. This would make use of the fin heat. WOW congrats:-) I have a new project. Please keep in touch.

instead of (or integrated into) the cooling fins, could there be a jet of water or air from a thermo syphon that hit the flywheel to make it a flywheel/turbine combo?

seems that air or water could be worked into a closed or open convection process

15 Watts will power a small laptop like the eee pc or the One laptop per child. My old laptop beastie consumes 70W. I have a full machine shop, send me some drawings, and I can make the parts for you. I'd like to see your creations drive a load. I'm headed in a similar direction. Great work!

This is a great long term experiment! Will you be using a hot thermal store with this in the future (similar to the recently proposed Cloncurry design)? Perhaps including the parabolic mirror mix as the record-setting Sandia SES design from two months ago?

It is referring to consumption of a device. Like a 15 watt bulb in terms of Kilowatt Hours. So if this ran for 70 hours, it could produce about 1 Kilowatt hour. Not impressive, but a starting point.

Not true, Crokes moves in a vacuum. This moves in normal air. Also this engine can produce about 15 watts of power. While that is not much, it is still from the sun and FREE. Also this design can be modified to handle 100 watts of resistance with enhanced heat exchangers. Once those are completed, I will hook it to a DC permanent generator.

The engine isn't doing any work! It isn't much better than a crookes radiometer.
