IS ONE OF MY MANY STIRLING ENGINES THAT WAS THE INSPIRATION FOR THE SOLAR STEAM STIRLING HYBRID.
I've never seen a Stirling enging before. Thanks for sharing

By GREENPOWERSCIENCE 1222731214 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveStirling engine are mighty cool, however all the ones I have seen always have terrible torque, as soon as you apply any resistance they almost stop. Any way to get around this do you think, or will the stirling engine remain a desk ornament for ever...?
By rowanofrin1 [Affiliate User] 1212042222 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAnd without torque, you cannont make electricity. Or at least in any real amounts. The only way to make enough torque is to get it turning 9,10,000 rpms, like a weedeater engine, and then run the generator off of a gear reduction drive. And alas, the reduction adds so much parasitic drag that you wind up back to square one. That is why we don't already use this, but I do hope someone work this out.

By cismo99 [Affiliate User] 1211813660 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI am working on a steam turbine using the concept. Also, you have a cool channel:-)
By GREENPOWERSCIENCE [Affiliate User] 1211523293 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehave you tried a tesla turbine in any of these frensel designs, supposedly they transfer energy very efficiently at the atomic drag level.
By boxa888 [Affiliate User] 1211480982 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveCheck my website, there are links on the Stirling and Steam page. One this big is hard to find. Thank you for the comment.
By GREENPOWERSCIENCE [Affiliate User] 1211004219 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveGreat! Thanks for sharing. Any idea where I could get one of those sterling like yours ( that will hold up to the fresnel lens heat).
By jamesharrisonburg [Affiliate User] 1210699611 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou know, I never thought about using the flywheel as a turbine additive. Actually I cannot even think how it would ffect the process. Thank you for the FANTASTIC idea. Or it could be a Tesla combo. This would make use of the fin heat. WOW congrats:-) I have a new project. Please keep in touch.
By GREENPOWERSCIENCE [Affiliate User] 1210613016 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveGreat!
instead of (or integrated into) the cooling fins, could there be a jet of water or air from a thermo syphon that hit the flywheel to make it a flywheel/turbine combo?
seems that air or water could be worked into a closed or open convection process
somebody congratulate me please if i just helped invent something new... could this be a 'turbo sterling engine'?
Temperature differential is they key to power.

By dsunhope [Affiliate User] 1209901070 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei saw a youtube on deep water tech in kona hawaii. would it be better if the hot kona sun and the cold ocean water was used?
By dsunhope [Affiliate User] 1209900977 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeit's called thermalcoustics!
By kashmb [Affiliate User] 1208537534 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove15 Watts will power a small laptop like the eee pc or the One laptop per child. My old laptop beastie consumes 70W. I have a full machine shop, send me some drawings, and I can make the parts for you. I'd like to see your creations drive a load. I'm headed in a similar direction. Great work!
By TalksWithDirt [Affiliate User] 1208036910 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis is a great long term experiment! Will you be using a hot thermal store with this in the future (similar to the recently proposed Cloncurry design)? Perhaps including the parabolic mirror mix as the record-setting Sandia SES design from two months ago?
By akashashen [Affiliate User] 1208031275 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeactually, watts are in reference to joules of work done per second
By reverenddavidius [Affiliate User] 1207932656 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt is referring to consumption of a device. Like a 15 watt bulb in terms of Kilowatt Hours. So if this ran for 70 hours, it could produce about 1 Kilowatt hour. Not impressive, but a starting point.
By GREENPOWERSCIENCE [Affiliate User] 1207638650 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewhen you guys talk about watts produced, do you mean a hour, or a day, or a month?
By lutherheggs [Affiliate User] 1207546316 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNot true, Crokes moves in a vacuum. This moves in normal air. Also this engine can produce about 15 watts of power. While that is not much, it is still from the sun and FREE. Also this design can be modified to handle 100 watts of resistance with enhanced heat exchangers. Once those are completed, I will hook it to a DC permanent generator.
By GREENPOWERSCIENCE [Affiliate User] 1207461343 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe engine isn't doing any work! It isn't much better than a crookes radiometer.

By rodgerdodger5 [Affiliate User] 1206251458 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHi Dan,
-Just curious, have you thought of running this Stirling engine off of a reflector coated fiberglass satellite dish?
-Where do you find Stirling Engines of that size?
Have you thought about putting a "contact us" email on your website?
