A cool clip of Cueca - a capoeira teacher from Israel.
First off, Capoeira is *supposed* to look like a bunch of nifty dance moves, it was created by the slaves in south america because they weren't allowed to train in fighting so the disguised it as tribal dancing. Hence the look.
Secondly Mr. Right? You're (note the spelling, you ARE or They ARE, hence it's they're) a dumbass.
Great video of an amazing sport.
how dance alike fighting can help you agianst non capo fighters... especially when your fighting slo-mo thingy
By metalparkour 1159596115Capoeira it's art of blocks, kicks, punches and avoidings wich can be implement in fighting with any of the martal arts:)) I study Capo so I know:)
By Kossaq 1165067894but if you have a good "master", he must to teach you hw can you block this attacks, wich you can't avoid!! My training include also blocks.
By Kossaq-new 1180993671what is the name of the first song that appears in this video?
By Actionmaniak 1272388620I love capoeira cos it looks cool. Not cos i wanna beat Tony Jaa, Fedor or Bruce Lee(rip), like some idiots here...
By balo20 1169274469first of all capoeira has changed over the years and has adapted to different people's needs and desires to become many things. but it wouldnt have survived this far if it wasnt an effective fighting system to begin with. just learn its history. having said that, it does take a long time and much thought for an individual to be able to confidently use it and furthermore, it depends on the natural fighting or moving abilities of the individual as much as it does the martial art. i know capoeiristas who would lose a fight and i know some who would seriously kick the cr@p outta most of us. BUT can someone please tell me what song that is at the end of the clip...its niice...any1??
By mrwongg 1160071871can someone tell me the name of the last song...the capoeira song mixed with some breaks...please??
By mrwongg 1159055603may look silly to some, but get hit with one of those kicks at full force, you'll stop laughing, or at least when you wake up you wll
By booth_ninja 1157907295I were to learn any kind of martial arts, this would be the one. IT just looks like fun.

i like this style of martial art. it's nice and flashy and is great for preformances whether it be on the street or on a stage. it looks great for building up jumps and flexibilty, too, but i just dont really see the overall effectiveness of this style. sure, the constant movement gives you headstarts into attacks, but that constant movement means no base for stance. by moving so much like that, it'd be rather easy to be tripped as demonstrated in the video. i could see fighters with strong stances and well balanced centers being able to take out a capoeira fighter.
some of the kicks done in the video seemed kind of slow, but it may have been the practitioners themselves, and not the style's fault. though, i still get a feeling that it's mostly for show.
i wouldnt mind learning capoeira. it looks fun and some of the movements are kind of familiar to me, but the only way i'd use this in a real fight is if i stick to my own style and mix in little moves here and there to try and throw off an opponent.
capoeira sure beats the hell out of karate and tae kwon do, i can tell you that ;)
sry i didn't write anything on that last one.
anyway most of the capoeira sparring you see in this video isn't at full fighting speed. when the martial artists are sparring the aim isn't to hurt or "score" points on the opponent but more to put on a show while displaying your capabilities. (unlike kyokoshin, karate, or tae kwon do). Also, while arts like Muay Tai (spelling?) are very power based and require firm stances, Capoeira is designed to be incredibly deceptive and allows the fighter to avoid attacks while striking against opponents that most likely are weilding weapons.
awsome martial art.
buuuttttt... Jiu Jitsu FTW
....then who is it? you cant jsut say "you are wrong" ....dumb ass
