    The old man you saw was none other then Dr. Hatsumi who is the true ninja decendent in Japan. You think that he's a pushover your wrong. The filp in the bushes was done in the way you saw to not destroy the brush in order to hide from the enemy but still be in the area without them seeing him. As for the shuriken its a bit harder to use rubber shuriken then real shuriken so don't go bashing when you don't know everything about what your talking about. If you want more check this out.
