Mobile video ads targeted at a user's demographics and location could soon become a reality. GoldSpot Media has developed technology that can insert targeted ads into mobile broadcast networks in real time.
GoldSpot is already in commercial trials with broadcasters in Europe and Asia, and is currently in talks with broadcasters in the U.S., CEO Srini Dharmaji says.
According to Dharmaji, the software is portable across mobile phones and is interoperable with different carriers and original equipment manufacturers. The company has adapted an inventory-sharing business model to make this possible, Mark Hefflinger at Digital Media Wire reports.
GoldSpot Media will work with ad networks, mobile operators, and content providers help them take advantage of its technology. The company raised $3 million from Silicon Valley investor Exa Ventures and is currently raising its B round of funding.
Andy interviewed Dharmaji at the AlwaysOn conference last month.
