Not in North Carolina. Everyone i know with a jeep takes them off, and one is a cop. if you know anything about off roading you don't use plastic for anything. Rub against a tree and there goes your fender so it’s better to take them off. So what if you dent your quarter panels, metal can be hammered back in place, plastic can't.

Having to take your fenders off because you're running into trees might i suggest driving lessons. You're probaly asking what does he know about Jeeps, well i'll tell you. I'm almost 50 and the first vehicle i learned to drive was a 1946 CJ 2A in the early 70's and i've had a Jeep in the driveway ever since, my current Jeep is a 1972 Commando and my playground is called the Sierra- Nevada mountain range and i've never been to the body shop.

I guess yall never seen those stickers jeep folk put on their windows that say “real jeeps don't have fenders” for those who take them off for an exo-cage or it looks better without shitty plastic. And “its a jeep thing you wouldn’t understand”. Or the one that’s upside down and says, “if you can read this you flipped over”. And “attach bronco here” with an arrow pointing to the bumper or winch. Anyway...it’s just a joke. and if you've been off roading since you were a kid and never hit something its because splashing through mud puddles on the side of the road doesnt count as off roading.

Call the Rubicon a mud puddle on the side of the road, ok i do scrape the rocker panels, and i do have "It's Jeep thing you wouldn't understand" window sticker, license plate frame says "Can't stop... smile as you go under". Having the TerraLow 3:1 gears in my Dana 20 transfer case behind a TH400 tranny makes for some nice crawling.
