    Did the right thing there, he had a gun, and with his prior "activities" had shown that he had no respect for other people's lives. Obviously if he had stopped without running away or taking out guns, he wouldn't have gotten shot, now would he?

    The same people that blame the cops for shooting him, would sit her and blame them for not stopping the chase early had he run over a grandma crossing the street. Its a no win situation because half of the people here are arm chair quarterbacks looking at things only in hindsight.

    If the perp had stopped like any law-abidding citizen then this would have never happened. He obviously didn't care about almost running over pedestrians or causing a crash. He thought only of himself. Criminals have too many rights. The cops saw him with a gun, and he never raised his hands up to show that he no longer had the weapon.     - Do cops stop him by chasing him by feet? NO
    - Do cops stop him by firing at his legs? NO
    - Do cops stop the thief by firing a bunch of bullets in his body? YES.

      he came within one foot of hitting a man and his daughter on a residential road? Not a menace? What exactly do you call a menace? He endangered the lives of several people on a highway and he pulled a gun on cops whos job is to protect your sorry unappreciative ass. They have lives and families and they dont put other people in danger for their own selfish benifit so this guy totally got what he deserved and probably wanted seeings how he didn't try and not get killed.

      You will rarely, if ever, see an intentional legshot by LEOs. They are taught to always aim for center mass. Leg shots are way too difficult to attempt (especially on a moving target) and could very likely end up in an innocent bystander being shot instead.
