Hummer Offroad

This is a military issue "Hummer" which are actually called "Humvees" But are very superior to the Hummer. Low end torque up the ying yang but with a redline, top gear speed of 55mph crusing speeds are about 25 to 30mph... Not really a daily driver. So, the person below me here needs to do a little more research cause I don't think they made the standard Hummer capable of withstanding an anti personel land mine explosion.

AfroBob is right. The so called military "hummers" aren't actually hummers. They're 'HumVee's' made by AM General.

General Motors owns the Hummer brand and these were NOTHING like the military ones made by AM General EXCEPT for the shell.

I like when a guy complains about something that he cannot buy :) I own both cars H1 and H2 and wherever I go the H2 does the job well as an H1unless you want to climb a mountain then that is different, but that little puddle of mud... I don't need to even use the H2 ... just use my friends trailblazer

You really know your vehicles huh? I have an 89 K-5 that would make that mudhole anyday. You have no idea what can be done with a true offroad vehicle. It doesnt take military vehicles to "Go Anywhere", it takes knowhow. Truly the Humvee is a great vehicle, but most rednacks can do all this with their daily drivers lol!

Hummers rock and range rovers are okay but if you want to get the best fourwheel drive for your money, an investment in a Toyota Land Cruiser or 4 Runner would be your best option.

The only offroader that have driven The whole american continent from north to south off the roads. The H1 has only concured desserts ( that any car can do) and test tracks that was build for hummer. Hummer is to wide! H2and H3are only amerivan plastic with no suspension and drum brakes.

Do you know why the hummer is as wide as it is? Its because its designed to be able to change its tires and drive on European railroad tracks.

Have you ever seen a crash test of the H2 ? and by the way, my dad have a Land Rover discovery 3. The most advanced offroad vehicle today. That hummer weights about 4,3 tons. If it gets stuck it will never get up.

Yes, Ford bought Land Rover in 2000. However Land Rover was one of the best manufactures of 4x4 well before Ford bought it.

actually there was little or no wheelspin on the right side... only on the left ones that were in the bog.. the right side wheels had plenty of traction that is how he got thru the hole... due to torque limiting or locker axles... as far as someone in a later post saying they always breaks axles... this model hummer uses half-shafts in each of the 4 INDEPENDENTLY ... yeah find that on your land rover.. sprung wheels.. oh yeah.. WITH an internal air system to deflate or inflate each tire .. one of the other reasons he made it thru is the wider than normal truck wheelbase that puts wheels outside of the ruts created by previous vehicles.. H1/H2 guy you can verify this info i am sure bud...
