  • M110

I was stationed in Bamberg, Germany in the early 80's as an 8" Howitzer crewman. Our cannons did, indeed, fire tactical nuclear weapons. Our battery had its own special weapons team who were trained to handle and fire the weapons.

The cannon in this video looks also to be the same 8" tube we had on our self-propelled cannons. It's missing the muzzle at the end of the tube, and the carriage is different, but that round is definitely an 8"-er.

    This video is definitely real.

    • I

was stationed in Kaiserslautern with 37th Group from Jan 77 to Oct 79. We used to haul all sorts of stuff all over the place there. We brought 3 Neutrons from Saarbruken Air Base to Mesau Army Depot. That night, on TV, Carter was talking about how they were thinking about bringing the Neutron into Europe. No telling what all our military has.

  • The bigger the gun the smaller the dick,

and the brain. These assholes must have brains and dicks you would need an electron microscope to find.

    • Funny You Say That

Some of the guys who helped develop nuclear weapons, also helped desing and construct the first electron microscope.

How Retarded do you have to be to split the atom and create the electron microscope.

I mean honestly... Thats the definaition of idiot right there.

    • See below, about the nuclear hand

grenade. There's a big difference between ingenuity and intelligence. Intelligence includes recognizing the long-term results of one's actions, before doing them.

    • Well...

Wouldnt that be more of a moral issue?

They knew what they were doing could cause long-term harm... or if they didnt, they learned real fast through scientific observation.

I mean the cold war was just a pissing match based on who could more effectivley destroy the world.

This is what birthed mutually assured destruction, and without it we probably wouldnt be here haveing this disscussion today

    • It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings.

Leave the Bushites near the 'button' long enough, they'll push it, guaran-F**king -teed.

  • This canon was at the museum

at Sandia Base where I got to see it. I also got to see the 'also ran' inventions that didn't work as planned, such as the atomic mobile canon (which didn't have the range to clear the gun crew) and the unbelieveable atomic hand grenade! For real!

    • Plenty of distance

These cannons can fire rounds up to 30 miles away; plenty of distance.

  • Oh no...

    ... that's a bulls**t. Nobody believe in this crap... c'mon!

    By thorsilente 1219680179
    • Oh Yes?

That's the first line of defence! 'Bullshit' Buit it happened and again it was an American experiment. Granted they had no idea that the fall out of such a dirty bomb could be so deadly, But then it never stopped them before did it?
Fuckwits with attitude! Still fighting the Indians. Still winning the west...
      They do love a war!

    • Whats bull**t?

They actually did make and test this thing. And decided that it was impractical and gave up on the idea.

    • Ummmm

      Ofcourse no one beleives it....

Look it up before you slate it, Both the US & USSR had artillery launched neuclear war heads 'for tactical use'

(the crazy bunch also made neuclear landmines they are that crazy !)
