Just had to relate the following story of a local waitress who was harrassed by police and now makes it her business to "spice up" the food of dining officers. One of her favorites is to drop female hormones in their coffee, and another is to wring out used tampons onto burgers, etc. Some of the regular patrons know her, and can barely contain themselves from going into hysterics when an unsuspecting cop compliments her on the food. It's hysterically funny.

Because of this "unusual" relationship" between policemen and the citizens, I'm assuming that crime, especially violent crime is virtually zero.

I do have one question. Have you ever spent time in America or are you basing your beliefs about America on what you have been told by others?

when i was younger and living in arkansas there was a guy driving around pulling over girls by putting a blue light on top of his card. after he got them to pull over he would kidnap and R**e them. this happened 3 times before they ever caught him. in the newspapers and other local media outlets they were telling women that if you were being pulled over by a police officer to drive as long as you needed til you got to a populated and well lit area. my mom did this once while getting pulled over around the same time and almost suffered the same fate as this woman in the video. cops should learn to be more patient, if the person is driving at a reasonable speed and not attempting to get away, its not fleeing, its simply refusing to stop. in most cases theres a good explanation. this guys problem wasnt that he got picked on in high school, he just has anger problems, along with no patience and the inability to put himself in a young womans shoes whos about to get pulled over.

an analogy is a comparison between two different things, what i said wasnt an analogy. you cannot see if a car is marked or not when its behind you. regardless of when the R**es occurred, all local media outlets in the arkansas area at the time the blue light rapist was striking, were reporting to not pull over until you were sure it was a cop even during the day time or on well travelled roads. my comment does apply because it is a plausible reason for her not pulling over. i didnt say this was the case, i just said police officers should have patience knowing that these types of events have at one time or another occurred. the police officer knows hes a cop, but the person hes pulling over might not know that.

Her story about being afraid to pull over is BS. It's not like this took place on some dark deserted country road with no one around, this happened in broad daylight on a major highway. She should have just pulled over and obeyed the law and none of this nonsense would have even happened. She wouldn't have gotten yelled at, handcuffed, arrested or scratched, it would have been just a routine stop and she would have went on her way and this wouldn't even be on metacafe, lol.
It's true that the cop lost his cool and was yelling at her, but I hardly think that being yelled at and a few scratches for acting stupid equals $100, 000 dollars. That's just ridiculous!

i think your story about why he acted that way is BS. i dont know how you can be so sure that the reason he acted the way he did was because she didnt pull over immediately. i dont hear him asking her why she didnt pull over immediately. i dont hear him on the radio saying that he had someone trying to flee. if his actions had been consistent with his training they wouldnt have settled a six figure lawsuit. also, i dont see her lawsuit settlement as a reward for being stupid, i see it as a punishment for a police officer abusing his power.

I do think the officer over-reacted in this stop, but there's 8 miles of video we didn't get to see. Maybe he did call it in as someone fleeing. We don't know. This was daylight, plenty of cars on the highway, she set herself up for a forceful response from an officer, even if it wasn't this guy.

- concerning the time of day
when im driving down the highway and i see a cop with someone pulled over, i do what most people do, i slow down because im normally speeding. i dont give much a look as to what is going on between the officer and the person he has pulled over, mostly because i see them passing by at 55 mph and theres not much time to see. if i had seen a cop pulling someone out or with his gun drawn i might slow down and look a bit but im not stopping to see whats going on. if youve ever been in a 2 car trip and a person gets pulled over in the other car, try stopping with that car and getting out of your vehicle and seeing how the officer reacts. people screw up, thats why there are cops in the first place. they have a higher expectation to not screw up. if i screw up at my job i expect to get fired, a cop screws up, sometimes firing them isnt enough. the only bad thing about the settlement is it probably came from tax dollars and not the officer. he probably isnt a highway patrolman anymore, but ill bet money hes a local deputy or city cop now, with the same anger management problems he had in this video.

Is the fact that this was a POLICE video camera. If they were the bad guys some are claiming, it would be the easiest thing in the world to lose the tape and claim the camera wasn't working at this time. Instead, they "manned-up" and released the tape and let the world know (via US TV) that this is the type of behavior that is unacceptable to good cops.
Once again, we have the old sweeping gerneralization in action. Cops are people, some good, some bad, and some in between, although I do find that cops tend to attract more than their share of the top AND bottom. The top because they care about people and the law. The bottom because they are looking to show how tough they are.
Speaking of which, I really get a laugh out of the "If I was there" boys. They sound just like the twits in my unit when we went into combat who were going to single-handedly wipe out "ever gook in Asia". Three guesses who were the first to run and hide when the fighting started. All mouth and no ass. It was the quiet kids who did the real fighting!
