      We are a Representative Republic. We vote for and elect those that we want to represent us in our government. Those representatives form our governing body.

      Democracy = Mob Rule. 6 guys in a room, 5 of them vote to kill the 6th guy, then its a majority rule. No law is broken because it is the mandate of the people. Welcome to Democracy.

      EXCELLENT point! YOU sir have made my DAY! Unfortunately there are MANY more like our ignorant friend that believe we are a straight up democracy. While its true we DO elect our leaders by a DEMOCRATIC system, it does not mean that we are a democracy. Our forefathers had the intelligence to see that and decided instead to make us a Constitutional Republic.
