There is an easiest way
For multiplication with 9, reduce 1 from the other number (this is the first number) and count how many numbers you have until 9. For example if we multiply 9 X 8 = 8-1=7 (this is the first number) and 9-7=2 (this is the second number) and the final result is 72.
