OKAY,I KNOW THERE ARE PURIST OUT THERE WHO WOULD LIKE EVERYTHING JUST LIKE THE COMIS.MOVIES ARE A DIFFERENT MEDIUM,IF THEY DID IT JUST LIKE THE COMICS IT WOULD BE JUST A REMAKE OF SOMETHING YOU'VE ALREADY READ.I PRAISE SAM AND THE REST OF THE DIRECTORS WHO'VE MADE SUPER HERO MOVIES FOR TRYING TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT WHILE AT LEAST TRYING TO STAY TRUE TO THE SPIRIT OF THE COMICS.MOVIES AND COMICS ARE TWO MEDIUMS THAT ARE DONE TOTALLY DIFFERENT,JUST GO SEE THE MOVIES AND ENJOY THE RIDE,DUDES! IF NOT THEN GO BACK TO READING THE COMICS.

There seems to be a lot of confusion in this movie, so I have worked out a pretty accurate summary (I think):

The astronaut that Mary Jane was supposed to marry but walked out on at the end of Spiderman 2 is an astronaut. He goes into space and returns with the Venom symbiote suit. Somehow Peter Parker gets his hands on it, and it takes over him. Marvel probably out Sandman in the movie simply to put a villain in there so Harry Osbourne can turn into the Hob Goblin (cuz he found his Dad's Green Goblin stuff at the end of Spiderman 2). So Parker is up against Sandman, a living suit that is taking over him, and his best friend that is decked out with bacta formula, awesome gear, and a will to kill.

Looks good, hope that summed it all up.

Is that suppose to be Venom with out the Venom outfit

eddie brock/venom is going to be played by that shrimp who played eric on that 70s show ... how will they pull that off ????

Yes its true in the comics that the symbiote was rewarded to spidey in a war. Though in the cartoon it was on the spaceship.

The most sold comics of all time, this is why a spiderman movie couldn't be done earlier: it demands the best special effects ever! I always thought it's one of the best movie series and I still do; spiderman 3 is much more enhanced and thrill paked than the last two. Brilliant!

every movie so far has been true to the comic books. if you want to just see some action with no link to anything go watch judge dredd.

I think Sam Raimi is going overboard with all the villains in this one. Venom deserves his own film, but to add Sandman "lame" and cry-baby Green Goblin, it just seems too crowded. BTW hippie pie, that's not aqua dude, it's Sandman, whom you are mistaking for Hydro-Man. Just because you went to Universal Studios and rode the Spider-Man ride does not make you an authority.

spawn is the best comic ever, even the movie is so much earlier than spider man, it is still much much better than any other comic movie.

Everybody has their opinions and I respect that.....BUT,
I think the first 2 Spidermans were net crappy or faggish.
In fact I like them both. And give the movie a chance to make it's real trailer or get out in theaters. It could acually turn out to be good for all you know.... Not to be mean or anything.....And by far i will like to say that Superman Returns S**ks ass..... and so far the best super hero movie I've seen was Batman Begins and The Punisher. Bye Now <333

Where the hell you moron saw Venom being pitted against Spiderman? Venom hardly appeared in the clip, all I saw is Spider wearing the Symbiote. The Symbiote will make him nasty and was taking over him. The Reflection is the symbiotic spder looking at imaginary image of the old.

What were looking at here is NOT venom but the spiderman from the secret wars series back in the 80's. The "shrimpy" guy is OBVIOUSLY playing Sandman and there seems to be in introduction of the Hobgoblin. PLEASE stop with the whole Venom thing. IT IS NOT VENOM. Check "Web of Spiderman #1". It's an alien symbiote that later on took over Flash Thompson, who was and is Venom.
