There seems to be a lot of confusion in this movie, so I have worked out a pretty accurate summary (I think):
The astronaut that Mary Jane was supposed to marry but walked out on at the end of Spiderman 2 is an astronaut. He goes into space and returns with the Venom symbiote suit. Somehow Peter Parker gets his hands on it, and it takes over him. Marvel probably out Sandman in the movie simply to put a villain in there so Harry Osbourne can turn into the Hob Goblin (cuz he found his Dad's Green Goblin stuff at the end of Spiderman 2). So Parker is up against Sandman, a living suit that is taking over him, and his best friend that is decked out with bacta formula, awesome gear, and a will to kill.
Looks good, hope that summed it all up.

- Yea thats the same conclusion I came to....
but i was told that spidey actually picks up the symbiote suit in some sort of war (check venoms bio on google). Clearly this would be a bit random so the astronaut bringing it back makes it a bit more plausible for the audience.

Yes its true in the comics that the symbiote was rewarded to spidey in a war. Though in the cartoon it was on the spaceship.

If eddie is skinny it will make the symboite look stronger. Tho he does have alot of time to train before hes actually on it....

The most sold comics of all time, this is why a spiderman movie couldn't be done earlier: it demands the best special effects ever! I always thought it's one of the best movie series and I still do; spiderman 3 is much more enhanced and thrill paked than the last two. Brilliant!

I think Sam Raimi is going overboard with all the villains in this one. Venom deserves his own film, but to add Sandman "lame" and cry-baby Green Goblin, it just seems too crowded. BTW hippie pie, that's not aqua dude, it's Sandman, whom you are mistaking for Hydro-Man. Just because you went to Universal Studios and rode the Spider-Man ride does not make you an authority.

I think the first 2 Spidermans were net crappy or faggish.
In fact I like them both. And give the movie a chance to make it's real trailer or get out in theaters. It could acually turn out to be good for all you know.... Where the hell you moron saw Venom being pitted against Spiderman? Venom hardly appeared in the clip, all I saw is Spider wearing the Symbiote. The Symbiote will make him nasty and was taking over him. The Reflection is the symbiotic spder looking at imaginary image of the old.

What were looking at here is NOT venom but the spiderman from the secret wars series back in the 80's. The "shrimpy" guy is OBVIOUSLY playing Sandman and there seems to be in introduction of the Hobgoblin. PLEASE stop with the whole Venom thing. IT IS NOT VENOM. Check "Web of Spiderman #1". It's an alien symbiote that later on took over Flash Thompson, who was and is Venom.

It aint the Secret Wars "From The Chaos A Costume" symbiote. They ain't gonna whip Spidey off to a planet made by the Beyonder to suit him up, they will go the way of the (other) comics and 'toons. Alien sample hitches ride to earth fuses with Spidey, who turns to his Dark Side, then ditches costume.Topher Grace is playing Eddie Brock, who shares an eqaul hatred for Parker like the rejected alien symbiote, they merge to become Venom. SIMPLE!

the venom symbiote is an alian witch found its way to earth or if they are doing it the other way peter parkers dad created it so when it gets on spiderman he loves it until he knows its an alian then he ditches it.... when it finds its way to eddie brock he should be in prison (i dont know how the movie is going to do it) but when it gets on him he gets really strong and starts terrorising ...... so if u wanna post first know wat ur talking about1695792 - 2
but I didn't see Venom in the clip. Sandman and the Goblin were in, but I saw no Venom. As i see it Venom might actually appear only in the end, after Spidey gets ride of the Symbiote . More likely he'll be in the next.
