It is true about 1 out of every 7 tricks could be done anywhere the majority of them have the audience on the pay roll or its a big setup to begin with. I can tell you this...when Criss did the trick when he went through the glass, well that was the back of his studio, not a random office. This is why I enjoy DB better but so what the majority of the population enjoys both of them Criss just makes more money.

In many cases, CA relies on paid "audiences" and tape editing for his "illusions". True illusionists perform their feats live and let you know ahead of time who their assistants are. Effects done using camera editing are just that: effects. (I edit film

If you watch this video closely, you'll notice that at :33 seconds there's a brief shot of CA's back as he's doing some unexplained business with the bottle. This is followed by another brief cutaway reaction shot, presumably to disguise a time cut.

I think the bottles were actually swapped at that point because in subsequent shots he's quite obviously holding the bottle in such a way as to obscure its contents, while distracting the audience with chatter. From then on, it pretty much goes as you describe.

While CA does rely on camera cutting A LOT, this may not be one of those times.

He DOES perform his tricks live. I saw him a few months ago in Vegas. He's a really good illusionist just like David Blane and David Copperfield.

...I just think he hurts his credibility by performing stunts that are obviously done "in-camera".

I've seen plenty of his illusions that did not rely on tape edits and he's very good. He doesn't need to resort to the fake audience stuff evident in some of the other clips -- he's better than that.

I hate Criss Angel but this trick was actually pretty cool. How this he do it? I know there is something about the bottle.

Criss Angel is an entertainer, this is his job. I personally think he is a very good "magician, illusionist" whatever you wanna call it. But the moral of the story is yes, they are all fake, but its entertaining. There is no debate, face facts. He is an entertainer. Just be entertained and let it go.

I love magic, and illusions. I do them myself, but the reason I HATE Criss Angel with a passion is... He does SKILLESS things like camera trickery and blatenly LIES. All the time you hear this clown say, "Have we ever met before?" Maybe they havn't met before but they sure as hell met one of his cronies that explained to them what to do. Even in THIS illusion he jokes about the girl being in on it with her. An illusion is one thing, but ANYONE can turn the camera off plant the prop, and the resume taping. SOO annoying, I feel robbed watching these kinds of "illusions"

So here is how this "trick" is done.

shows everyone a real bottle... which just happens to have enough fluid to not overfill that small ass wine glass. Then he takes the PAID actress's phone , which RIGHT after he takes it... there is a screen cut... NO POSSIBLE REASON for a cut to be there other than the fact that he swaped bottles for one with another phone in it. He uses the SAME device he uses in his coin duplication trick from last season of mindfreak to S**k the phone up in his sleeve. he holds the NEW bottle backwards with label towards you, and his hand on the other side so you cannot see the phone. then he slams his hand on the bottle (watch him turn it as he does this) to reveal a phone in the bottle that MAGICALLY just HAPPENS to ring at the PERFECT moment and not go to voicemail for woman to answer from her mom...

F@#$ you Criss!! If you are going to pay people to be part of the act.. be a REAL man about it and just do it. Don't ask them if you've ever met before and basically lieing to the people who may have suspected it. You are cheating them.
