    Quit bashing pits, it is all up to the owner how those dogs turn out. As a police officer AND a breeder of pitbulls the only problem dogs i've ever seen are those in the hands of irresponsible people!

      My buddy had a pit that was as sweet as a baby. He treated people like gold. I trusted my kids with the dog because I knew the dog so well.

      On the other hand......when he was around another male Pitt it was fight, fight, kill, kill. Amazing transformation to watch.

      Pitts turn out the way they are raised. If you teach them to be mean then they will be. Just like any other dog.

      I would NOT trust my kids with ANY dog I don't know well.

      as an officer and a breeder then i would of thought you had more intelligenge than you have just shown us. YES its owners who put the impression on dogs and can make them a lot more dangerous and aggresive, BUT and a very big BUT, pitt bulls are purposely bred for aggresive fighting, all dogs came from wolves if you ever seen documentries and pitt bulls are man made for 1 purpose and 1 purpose only. lovely looking, but whoever trusts these with their kids needs to have their head tested !

      I trust them with all my kids, and true the breed was bred for fighting originally but it is still possible with a good breeding program to get those traits gone. Now the dogs will still be "gamey" which is their desire to hunt, birds, rabbits, squirrels, crap like that caust there aint no more in my yard for the past 8 years. But it basically boils down to responsible owners and euthanizing "bad dogs" before they are sold to the public. And before knocking the dogs try owning one. Thats like saying all black people sell or smoke crack and all white people sell and smoke meth. There are good and bad dogs just like people.

    i would trust my dogs more then i would a human. at least my dogs are predictable. second of all any dog can bite not just pit bulls. they have passed the american temperment test with a higer score then golden retrievers or labs
