  in the game of Runescape you can be a "player killer" (pker) in certain parts of the map called the wilderness. If you get killed by another player (pked) then you got OWNED, and then it's use spread further into real life by the many players... They've had as many as 180,000 people from all over the world logged in playing at one time... This may explain the origins of the term "OWNED"...
