The argument isn't whether or not we a re warming. Weather is never constant. It's whether or not we are at falt. Talk co2 all you want, but man is one of the smallest co2 contributors. Let's atleast get the story straight. Also, how do you explain the warming of other planets in our solar system?

A scientist? Great, I have a few questions. Could you elaborate as to why the Antarctic has been seeing net growth and what the obervational data is that fits this into AGW theory? Also, Could you explain the disconnect between high co2 levels and current temps? Along those lines, what is the expected lag time if co2 is driving temp? Also, what is the residence period?

recently eating lunch in our cafeteria here in Manhattan with a VERY liberal friend of mine. The topic turned to global warming and how humans are raising the temperature of the earth. After a few minutes of listening to her spew, I asked her "what happened to all the ice?" She asked "What ice". I then proceeded to explain to her that in the very spot we were sitting 10,000 years ago, the ice was about 2 miles thick. It has since retreated back north but I asked her what happened to it and why did it melt? The conversation quickly changed to another subject.

When they are faced with simple, logical questions about global warming, they have no answers to support their conclusion.

hold it~~i dont think the point is whether global warming is real or not, the true is WE DID affect our planet, even if its not that serious and wont kill us, how about all the wild life and plants we killed with our contamination?? so if it wont cause the end of the world, we can still contaminating our planet? is it ok?? really?? maybe AL did use it for his political benefits, but what this video is showing, is just giving people an excuse to not think about the environment. even if CO2 is not worming the planet, we cant doubt about burning oils produce gas that is harmful. Why we always give our self excuses instead of changing things?

You really got the best snipits of this much longer TV show. I think I it is as convincing as it is brief. Was it sun spots? No comic rays. Nigel Calder is such a incredible genius sticking to logical positivism no matter what the cost. All of the models, and the observations, have the central parts of Greenland and Antarctica growing faster because of global warming. This is a consequence of warmer air holding more moisture, thus increasing snowfall. But the net effect of warming on both continental ice sheets is mass loss, the increased melting being a larger effect than the increased snowfall. Temps are indeed higher and climbing. It's a complex science. Much of the correlative data are quadratic and not linear.

The world's scientists were not the one's saying the world was flat....it was the oppressive and ignorant Xtian church. The data conclusively indicates that the increases in temperature are anthropogenic. The debate over whether warming is anthropogenic was settled long ago. Folks need to stop filtering their perceptions through conspiracy delusions and look at the data objectively. Bush and Co. hired all sorts of fringe lunatics to distort and misrepresent the data. They want to sell oil. SUV owners want to feel "safe" in their 8mpg cars.Such will listen when clean water becomes scarce.

Denial is not a river in Egypt. It is the self deception that humans revert to when faced with distressing data. The Earth will continue to speak...but will you listen? While individual scientists have voiced disagreement with some findings of the IPCC,the overwhelming majority of scientists working on climate change agree with the IPCC's main conclusions.

Ok. I take ownership of the Xtian rant/flame. As a matter of fact, I am a scientist, have thoroughly perused the data, and came to a different conclusion. The Wilkins ice shelf is not deceiving you. Greenland's receding glaciers are not lying. The warmest years on record and the warmest March on record (2008)speak volumes. Floods, droughts, temp trends, etc. Armadillos as far north as Missouri. The debate is long over. Time for responsible humans to take action.
