  • .

Believe me, every company or group that has power will do everything they can do avoid the production of systems or solutions that will provide a cheaper and/or purer form of energy.

Why? Because every fuckin' human wants money, that's why.

yeah right!! unless the car cost at least $ 200,000.
there is too much money involve in oil, that kind of product will not see the light for the next 100 years.
remember at the beginning, the host said that this technology has already existed for a hundred years.
I wonder what happened to its inventor?
probably commited suicide by firing 6 bullets in his head.

    • ....Re-watch the video

You really need to re watch this video, and I dont know where your getting your facts from, they are obviously your opinions. First of all Oil is not going to last for ever, scientist predict it will run out within 50 years max at the rate we are using it. 10 to 20 years seems perfectly reasonable. Consider how fast technology has improved over the last 50 years, we are making tremendous leaps and bounds, within 10 to 20 years this technology should be at the point where it wont cost the consumer $5 million to buy. Imagine what we may have at the rate technology is increasing, hell Moore's law doesnt even apply any more. And to the second part of your comment re-watch the video, the host did not mean that this specific tech has exisited for a 100 years but cars themselves. Your a fool for even thinking somethiung like this could have existed back then, I guess your a pre-pubecent teen- but I could be wrong.

  • Hydrogen

What they don't tell you is that it costs more to make an equivalent gallon of hydrogen than it does to make a gallon of gasoline. Until that changes this car will never be produced.

    • the thing is..

they say this thing generates its own power, so vertually it runs off.. its own power, doesnt seem so costly now.. unless of course i missed something

By ThisClipIsFake 1155573469 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • It produces its own power,

but it does that by mixing some stuff. Hydrogen and Oxygen to be precise, and Hydrogen is pretty expensive. more expensive than Gasoline right now. Maybe that clears up some stuff. But I bet that a lot of Governments would be happy to give money to the owners of these cars so that it wont cost them more than normal gasoline.

  • ...

For those of you who say it won't reach the performance of a regular car, note that in the video it was said that the car could power your entire street.

As for peace to the middle east, if they didn't have oil, most of the countries in that region would be much like North Korea, poor.

  • We'll never be able to buy it

There is no way the Oil and automotive companies will allow us to buy something like that. It would put too many industries out of business. It will NEVER make the mainstream sales market.

  • GO Clarkson go

"Top Gear" is the best car show I have ever seen. Clarkson and the guys dont beat around the bush with bulls**t. They say what they mean. If Jeremey Clarkson says its good, trust him. He likes big fuel thirsty cars so if he likes something like this, then it has passed the test. Besides, its about f**king time the car manufactures got of their fat arses and get into alternative fuel sources.

  • It does the 1/4 mile...

in about 42.4 seconds. Wow! No choice, this is electric motor technology.

  • nice but lame car

i mean what is the performance of this car? will a car running hydrogen ever reach performance of a car running petrol has already reached? oil will never cease. What do you think will happen to airplanes?

By Ahmed Sammy 1153241722 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • You're Missing the Point

The point is, the technology is plausible. The first airplane (the Wright Flyer) had really shitty performance. The point is, they proved the technilogy worked and performance improved over time.

I'm absolutely positive the first version of this won't be as fast as a Ferari, but as science progresses and they perfect other things, like super-conductive magnets that function at higher temperatures, you'll probably see these types of vehicles exceed current performance.

As for jets, the same technology would work there too. All you'd need to do is replace the gas powered turbine engine with a high-power electric motor and fan. I'd even bet the hydrogen fuel would weigh less than a wing full of jet fuel.
