The basis of Akido is using your opponents momentum against him. You can clearly see the ref pushing the "fighter" (I use the term loosely) up against the ropes to off set the "fighter's" center of gravity. He then grabs the "fighter's" throat with one hand and hooks the other around the back of the "fighter's" neck and pulls him foward. Because he off set the "fighter's" center of gravity FIRST this doubles the momentum when pulling the "fighter" foward. After that it's just basic physics. He pulls down abruptly and swings up in a circular motion which causes the "fighter's" body to whiplash around. Very nicely executed. He has studied hard no doubt.

On a side note, the ref did not do anything until the "fighter" put his hand on him. This is another principle of akido: self defense. You are not the attacker, you are not the aggressor. You are controlling the other persons attack and if neccessary using it against him. Not to hurt, but rather to subdue.

these two are no fighters. the guy that got slammed was so useless he fell when the ref did the first break.
