Is Sarah Palin qualified to be president? The conventional wisdom is that Barack Obama cannot connect with the common man. His reasoned, intelligent responses to leading questions are not sound-bitey enough for some working folk. On Monday night, Keith Olbermann asked Senator Obama if Sarah Palin is qualified to be president. We have closed-captioned his response for the nuance-impaired.

  • Obama's Resume

A man with friends like Jeremiah Wright, William Ayres, Tony Rezko, Frank Marshall and a brother (George in Kenya) who lives on $1 (one dollar) a month while he (your Obama) makes millions is the kind of man who will lead us all into poverty! He (your Obama) said "I am my brothers keeper" at the Democratic convention. If that is the way he keeps his brother we are screwed!!!

    • Gee, let's see; the Iraq war has cost

about 3.3 Trillion dollars. The Bush Bailout package is another Trillion. That's on top of debt already totalling over 7 Trillion. Each and every family in the US of A now owes roughly a HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS, and that's BEFORE any mortgages, before putting a single crust of BREAD on the table. Does that start to sound like economic meltdown to you? Hey, let's put LOTS MORE RepubliKans in power! SIGN'EM UP!

  • Why is Obama ok to be president, but,

Palin, is not "qualified". Obama NEVER governed over anything, EVER (unless you consider running a family).
Then if that is the case, ANY father or mother is qualified!!!
That is all that Barack brings to the table. Having said that I think that none of the PRESIDENTIAL candidates have the abilities to RUN a country.
McCain and Barack are SENATORS not a person in charge of anything other than his/her (see senator Clinton) staff.
That is a far cry from running a state (Delaware is about the same in population as Alaska, see senator Biden), much less a country.
Proposing legislature and running a country is like a finance manager (not even a CFO), saying he can run the company. They are not doers they are sayers...

    • I'm impressed with your keen logical

insight and the eloquence of your response. Does it address the fact that Palin is a short-bus, hockey-helmet, special-needs person, and McCain picked that beauty-pageant contestant to be his running-mate? That everyone in the country, (with the possible exception of you personally), is literally laughing themselves half to death, fit to hork up a lung? No, I didn't think so.

    • time will tell

id rather have a gun tottin, moose shooting hockey mom any day over an admitted socialist running the country. as hussein recently said ill take you money and spread the wealth around to the plumber. No thank you. Maybe some of that blood circulating through those magnificent abs of your should remain closer to the cerebral components.

    • That's the thing that is scariest, is

there really are people in the US who cannot relate to anyone with an IQ that breaks into the triple-digits. They simply do not have the wherewithal to understand what Obama is saying, and fall back to the idiotic blatherings of a pair of clowns with the combined educational level of a high-school dropout. Go vote for your Fargo-escapees. We'll just have to hope there are still enough voters around who graduated fifth grade before they outgrew the desks.

    • LOL

Now you are just being silly. Are you saying you really believe Hussein is smart? As far as understanding what he says, I understand clearly that he thinks it is great to take my money and give it to someone who would rather stay home and pop out another welfare kid than work. Anything the government touches becomes almost unworkable compared to the free markets. Sounds like you are just another bleeding heart liberal who does not believe in personal responsibility. Thank god i still believe in the constitution.

    • Not much point in trying to respond in a

logical way to someone who thinks he's funny or clever to call Obama 'Hussein'. That's just racism born of ignorance and desperation in a campaign whose implosion makes Chernobyl look like a mouse fart.

But, you asked if he was 'smart'. Yes, I guess someone who put himself through Harvard law school on scholarships is 'smart'. Someone who became the youngest-ever editor of the Harvard Law Review is 'smart'. On the other hand, someone who graduated 894th in a class of 899 might not be considered 'smart'. Someone else who took six years at 5 different colleges to get a journalism degree, and can't name a single Supreme Court decision a couple of months into her vice-presidential campaign also might be considered less 'smart'.

But I thought that was the real point with you people. You often refer to candidates you don't like as being 'too smart'. Like being able to tie your own shoes is too smart for your comfort. Being able to figure out how to open a bag of cheese twists is 'too smart'. Being able to make change for the bus is 'too smart'.

    • you people?

Exactly who is, you people? I can see now that rational conversation with you is impossible. I mentioned several things and you keep comming back to "smart". IQ smart and being educated doesnt mean nearly as much to me as someone with good common sense that can make good sound decisions. Einstein flunked out of school and its claimed he was kinda smart. I dont think Hussein received scholarships from Harvard, in fact I dare you to find out any information about him from Harvard. No grades, no papers.. nothing. Then somehow he found enough money to travel to Pockistan, his pronounciation. He found enough money to buy a 1.5 million dollar house, maybe from his felony Arab campaign contributor and house finder, maybe from his two Pakistani roomates, one who controls his websites. He simply shines no light on most all of his background. He is so smart but not smart enough to know his mentor and spiritual advisor is a racist anti US, anti Israel idiot. The family values and beliefs of my candidates Ill choose any day over the arrogant, elitist, wealth re distributor. PS, im not bitterly clinging to my guns and religion, as i said I believe in the constitution.

    • 'You people' is RepubliKans. You people

is those who think a 'gun-totin moose shooting hockey mom' is a suitable candidate for president, (as if McCain would survive 4 years). You people is morons who think it's funny to use racist names, and think Obama is a 'socialist'. You people is the knuckle-walking troglodytes who make up the cult of sweaty mediocrity that is the great unwashed right wing of the US population. As I have said before, it's no wonder the RepubliKans slash education funding any time they get in. Only ignorami will vote for them.

    • ok LOL

You democraps are so stupid to think using a mans name is racist Barak Hussein Obama, my gosh thats his name. All you can do is try to disparage us constitutionalists. You never address one issue all you do is call names. What is redistribution of wealth if not socialism?? What is giving to those too lazy to do for themselves?? Call names if that makes you feel better, it sure doesnt bother me. You just seem to be bitter for being on the losing side for eight years. I suggest you get over it and try again in four more years. Im an ex marine patriot and you sir are a spineless meally mouthed socialistic European ass kissing liberal.

By jaxplane 1224190273 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • OMFG, you are serious about this S**t .

First of all, there will be no 'redistribution of wealth' under Obama, never happen. And even if it did, you don't have any wealth to 'redistribute'. If you did, you would be screaming about your porfolio of investments that is now worthless due to the RepubliKans removal of bank regulations so that Richard Fuld could get salary and bonuses of FIVE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS while Lehman brothers went into the toilet. Now the big US banks are being bailed out with YOUR TAX MONEY. Does that sound like redistribution of wealth to you?

Let's talk about another example of redistribution of wealth under the RepubliKans: The Iraq war has cost well over THREE TRILLION DOLLARS. That is your tax money. That amounts to over ten thousand dollars for every man, woman and baby in the entire US of A. Most of that money wound up in the hands of ARMS MANUFACTURERS, owned by, among others, the Bush and Bin Laden families. Ever heard of Halliburton? Dick Cheney is the ex-CEO? How much have they made from the Iraq war? How many hundreds of billions?

I could go on for weeks, but I suspect there is no point. You will ignore all of it. And when you do, that's what I mean by stupid.

    • serious?

You bet, At this point i would say you are one of the idiot 911 no plane conspicacy theorists. Thanks for reminding me of the 60% of my wealth that is now gone in the last month. What do you call this: Think of Joe the plumber who goes to Husseins house to clean his clogged drain and when he goes to collect his $60.00 fee he is told "Joe, im going to pay you $50.00 and send the rest to someone who doesnt pay any taxes or even works. Thats pretty clear to me as redistributing Joes wealth to someone who doesnt pay taxes or even work. Must be nice to have someone hand you money. Barney Frank and Dodd are chairmen of finance committees who kept saying Freddy and Fanny were just fine. It was McCain who was rejected for calling for controls. Opinions are one thing, facts another, I will express an opinion but fight over facts and truth.

    • ?? What the F**k are you talking about?

You just admitted 60% of your investments are gone. Where do you think they went? THe CEOs of the big banks stole them and are still flying around on private jets lined with mink, and shitting through gold toilet seats. McCain never voted for controls in his life. When Sarah Palin was asked for one instance where McCain voted for controls, just one, she said, 'I'll hafta look it up and get back to ya!' These people are laughing at you, pal. They are laughing themselves sick while they steal your money, and you STILL vote for them. It's tragic. I'm done trying. Buh-bye.

    • Im done as well

Anyway, I had no money in banks at all, my money was in energy stocks. McCain has a long history of voting against his own party when they are wrong, he was defeated in the senate about legislation to regulate Fanny and Freddie he had warned for years about the sub prime lending and lack of ability to pay for loans. Democraps Barney Frank and Dobbs encouraged lending to low income people with no credit to be fair to minority borrowers, they are committee chairmen of finace and banking. The democraps always give away money and when S**t happens it becomes republicans fault. I would have to look up the records for dates and bill numbers and get back to ya...I hope you dont get Big Government who wants to control your life in every fashion cause if you get your wish....im pretty much screwed cause ill be taxed to death before having a chance to get my money back as you have to pay the democraps before you can touch your earning...sad you dont see the the solution in Personal Responsibility instead of the government knows better than I.
