They havn't been in there for too long; they aren't that old. That's what you do when you have puppies prone to escaping and being hurt- you keep them in a safe place. Besides, wild dogs give birth to/keep their pups in small and fairly enclosed places all the time. The pin was clean. They were fine. Besides, beagles are smart dogs. It wouldn't take very long at all for one to figure that out.

If the owners or breeders have full time jobs, this is the best place for them. The pen is shaded, and the puppies look very healthy. A sick dog could never do what that dog did. They look fine and I bet they get lots of attention. Also, it's not just 1 dog, so it has playmates. Kudos to the dog owner. :)

These beagle dogs have very high smell sences and are usually used for hunting.
Due to their accute sence of smell, they like to go wandering around and so it is quite cruel to keep them penned in such a small environment. I am not sure if this is a breeding facility or if these dogs live like this, if it is the latter then these owners are very insensitive and cruel. Shame on them.
