On the nation?s 230th birthday, Discovery rocketed into the Florida sky, returning the shuttle fleet to space after almost a year.
did way better than korea's launches of the same day.
By nghtvsion 1152146162 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYa, America launches for all to see. Korea launches in the thick of the night. One day, just one day sanity and freedom will reach pyonyang!
By The dodo 1152884032 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethey are practicing for their mission to the sun; as any qualified astronaut will explain, all solar missons are conducted at night. it is just too hot in daytime.
By harvestmouse 1153785607 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNever get tired of watching a successful shuttle launch. If it wasn't for the foam problems, they probably wouldn't retire them in 2010. Fix the foam problem and you could be famous.

By zipomirek 1152141430 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeme one of those rockets for my car!!!
750 mph
Did'nt even know there was a launch yesterday, I pray they make it back safely!
By Uncle Rob 1152130887 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei watched this on my pc, on saturday 1st july it was scrubbed due to the bad weather, then on sunday the 2nd of july it was canceled again also due to poor weather, they then scheduled it for tuesday the 4th july (indipendce day).
i watch all day tuesday for the hype. but if u havent been following th hype then you wont know that 5 peices of debris fell off during launch. the last rocket that went up also had peices fall off, but on re-entry the rocketexploded due to the pices not being there. i damn hope when they come back down from the space station in 12 days time (18th june) that they arrive safely. i cant wait to see and hear what they have to say about the whole experience!!!!
a NASA commander that can't spell or type for S**t , and doesn't even know what month they come back
actually that does make sense!
Perfect
By blizzard worldcraft 1152113949 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt was alright. Way too long. A lot of mumble S**t that most don't understand. 1 min. before launch would have been great. It was still good quality video and pretty cool.

By Titit 1152354703 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethat we can go in to space but,do we have a cure for Cancer yet? or AIDS... what about hungry kids and unemployment.
By rojito 1152290964 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe space race contrebuted much to the modern science, and will in the future.
With that new knowlage, we can develope new medical drugs, find new ways to grow food.
About unimployment... People should have go to school and get a proper aducation, then, maybe, they could fine a good job.
It's not the begining of the 20th sentury and pre-industrial revolution times. If you don't have a proper aducation, you are nothing....
that it is amazing and spectacular... but couldn't the billions and billions that's spent on these shuttle projects be spent on better things like housing or the elderly or under privelidged kids. If we need a satellite in orbit, then send a normal unmanned rocket...i t's a lot cheaper
By TheDogsBollocks 1152201909 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove.....additionally, space shuttle missions lead to thousands of products and jobs....NASA makes far more money for people than it spends.
