Skydiving over Las Vegas with Roni Taylor

This was a daytrip that I will never forget. We took a short drive out to Jean, Nevada. This is the little town that you see as your driving to Vegas from California. All you see are a couple of casino hotels right in the middle o the desert with nothing around them, not even houses. It kind of makes you wonder who in the heck thought this would be a good place for hotels. Well they are just outside of Vegas and it seems that a lot of people like to stay there because the rooms are cheaper and since its so close it make sense. Well, I found that the best part of Jean, Nevada was not the cheap hotels but the best skydiving in Vegas. If you have never jumped but have always wanted to try, going tandem is the best. I had a really great instructor named Troy who has made over 1000 jumps. In fact he got married not to long ago and his ceremony included the two of them skydiving to the alter. Although I was scared to death, he kept it the conversation light and made sure I was comfortable with him and the gear. For me the scariest part was not the jump itself, but the ride up. Just knowing that any minute that door was going to open and I would have to do it was nerve wracking. Once we jumped it was exhilarating and the view was stunning.
